Of course Belgrade is way to cool to compare with other EE cities.
I think Belgrade's commies are more comparable to Brussels' downtown or something.

Soviet era commieblocks in Stryi (possibly the best quality commieblocks built during the communist era). Amazing, the rubber cement isn't oozing from between the panels.

Hey, Burislav, your last pics were totally nuts! Wonderful! Too good to be true!

Especially the last one - a mindblowing one... I think I'll print that, frame that and put it onto my table. There's a whole dream in this pic: large road, long and straight in the same time, high blocks in both sides of street, room for green areas, some far far away building visible... Like a journey to infinity... That really makes me feel I'm in a CITY. If you could tell me, where did you get that and if there are more pics like that, I'd be thankful!

It's in left bank Kyiv, the area is newly inhabited. It was taken by Pyatnytsya, our forumer at Urban Ukraine (he is from Dnipro, but was on a visit in Kyiv).

his video of the area

left bank Kyiv (about 30% of the city) is entirely made up of wide roads, big spaces and huge commieblocks.

Amazing stuff. Kyiv is my homeland, and will always be, I lov my commie blocks, nobody makes them better. Obolon has some amazing commie blocks now a days, and so do many other parts of Kyiv.

Commieblocks are a crime against humanity. People feel like collectivist chicken...

I'm quite convinced after all these pictures that Kiev is the most beautiful city I've seen. UGH! So many of them, so beautiful. So not-renovated. I hope they never will be.

Also, the block in the first post? The balconies are smiling at me! What a happy building.
