Not more than being obsessively interested in skyscrapers, XIX century planning or pedastrian zones etc. SSC is full of nerds.

lol...true that, but being interested in commieblocks is not socially acceptable, makes it the peak of nerds (like I like to type on my IBM model M keyboard, have Ubuntu as my OS and study math and physics etc. )

Hello dear fellow, I just want to get some clear facts on your comment, first of all Mexico is located in north America, that being said, I'll be happy to contribute with images of mex-commieblocks.
Second, is there anything wrong with being a girl, nerdish, love arquitecture & find commieblocks quite interesting?
I have my own opinion, so I can care less if other people think whatever they want about X or Y architectural trend/style, plus I want to assume that all of us in this sub-forum share some kind of passion about commies, right?
Greetings

Indeed Mexico is geographically located in North America. It was not meant as insult. Sry on that mistake.

Nope, just nuttin' wrong about it. But interestingly enough is that there are social activities which girls avoid entirely. I am not talking about some crazy sport or something like this but take mathematics or physics for instance, which I study. Nearly 95 percent are male students in these courses of studies. I don't need any islamic society, I already got that one (gender segregation) without any force in my everyday life. But thats offtopic, I just wanted to make clear the seldom appearance of girls in commies fanclub and now draw somehow the relation from my explanations to the thang about commiesblocks on your own

PS: I definitely need to get such a attractive avatar as well, but posing like a male. Like I would do thug workout in a rough commieblock neighbourhood and on the bottom would stand

"Any man who says he doesn't use his manliness to get what he wants, is deceiving himself"

aight..sorry on this one

Not that ugly. It's a bit better (aesthetically) than a typical park in exSoviet countries. To me, however, it looks quite depressive because I lived in a similar micro-district (микрорайон) for 18 years of my life I am still a fan of commies, just not the ones built in Soviet Union.

It looks more like a children playground rather than "park" but even as such it's nothing special.

Don't believe, that somebody could share the same feelings, but i really love this type of soviet architecture- monolithic reinforced concrete buildings.
Very untypical and not standart projects. You will not find more than you have fingers of every type of a building project everywhere in the world.
This was quite expensive technology, wwas first used in 1982.
Don't know these examples in the other countries, haven't seen in Latvia nor in Estonia, but in Lithuania, there are such examples even in Marijampole- 7th biggest city.
There are 79 buildings (11 variations) of this type in Vilnius alone.

So, Vilnius' prehistoric beasts (some of them need only to be repainted)

Here material is clearly seen.

I'm a freak, yeah

And this is something really untypical for the USSR- two-storey flats in semi-detached houses with gardens. There must be something wrong with communism

40 such blocks in Vilnius. Also built of monolithic reinforced concrete.

This one is not painted and the "monolith" material is clearly seen.

Another type of a house with a garden.

And here are some examples from Kaunas.
Look at the shape, look at all that little details! (true. some of them need just to be repainted )

Bauhaus versus Materialstil.

Listen to Pink Floyd, King Crimson or some modern space rock band and enjoy these prehistoric beasts.

Thanks for sharing your brutal beasts. Some of them look really horrifying and are good examples where the usage of too much concrete has gone wrong.
