Crane on Packer's tower swings in high winds, smashing window

By Matt O'Sullivan
January 23, 2020 — 5.10pm

High winds have led to a crane on James Packer's $2 billion tower at Barangaroo in central Sydney spinning quickly on its axis, smashing a large window on the high-rise building.

Office workers in nearby towers at Barangaroo, on the western edge of Sydney's CBD, were shocked to see the crane rotating on the construction site on Thursday afternoon.

SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE A PIC! LOL, IM GETTING WITHDRAWALS

IVe noticed the floors are stilll about 10 floors behind.?

Hello again Cul!

From 67-68 the Eastern cells drop off but temporary columns are being built so that no modifications to the jumpform (which could take weeks) will be necessary.
I will be setting out the walls for 68-69 after the long weekend and they should jump on the same day. Expect to see 68 below the core on Wednesday.

Down on the slabs we are currently up to 58 for Formwork. I expect Pour 1 (north) to be poured a couple of days after the long weekend and Construction RDO.

Things are full steam ahead at Crown with the only setbacks being rain, smoke, wind and sentient Tower Cranes

I look forward to giving you guys more updates as the building progresses!
