Walking along the Westway?

Hi all,
sorry for the silly question but you've already been quite useful some time ago, so I'm trying again ... Is it possible to walk along the Westway? I've always seen it many times from a distance, but I don't know if the Westway has got actual pavements along it or not...

Thanks in advance

You must be joking - it's an elevated motorway.

London needs to demolish the Westway and turn it into a public space similar to Seoul's Cheonggyecheon.

This used to be an elevated highway:

Hmmm that would be good, would create an ideal cycling route and free up Euston road for alternate uses. Scary how the 'new' cities are starting to overtake London.

What about keeping the Elevated motorway and transform it into a nice promenade like the new transformed disused elevated railway in Manhattan? The views would be spectacular and the short lived motorway era in London preserved.

I think that's a good idea as well. We can have a 2-level park. We can have something similar to Seoul's Cheonggyecheon on ground level and have Manhattan's High Line park on the upper level.

Manhattan's formerly disused railway tracks:

Apart from it's not.... Gothic surely you mean Concrete Island!

Crash is a highly disturbing, yet wonderful book. I prefer High Rise... a must read for any fans of tall buildings

Quite - set on the Westway, hence my bringing it up.

I did notice Gothic's erroneous statement earlier, but chose not to say anything - he get's a bit funny if he's contradicted.

I think the Westway is used in both along with Shepperton which Ballard seems equally fond of...!

PS. Dom, there is a film version of High Rise being released by Vicenzo Natali- can't wait, one of my favourite reads (sorry off-topic)
