Yes its connected and until the building is finished, SM Megamall shoppers will be relived with the additional parking spaces. The real question is will there be certain slots alloted for the Mega Tower and the shoppers? Because at the Podiium, it looks like BDO grabbed all the parking spots that are directly underneath the BDO Tower while Podium shoppers and those that will be working at the Podium West Tower will have to fight for the remaining spots underneath the West Tower...

If they are not planning on building on that vacant lot between the Podium and ADB, they should just build a steel parkade. Once SM Mega Tower is built, parking in SM Megamall will be next to impossible except for the earliest of shoppers. Add to the inevitable parking shortage of the Podium, which has actually provided a lot of parking for nearby office buildings until the BDO Tower was occupied, they need to find a quick solution to this potential crisis. I'm not really keen on Ortigas to become like BGC just because of some short sighted budget crunching, or worse, SJW attitude that cars are evil, people must walk or take public transpo to the mall and office...

There is no more space/lot for Megamall to build another Carpark Building unless if they add some additional floors in the Mega A. & B. carpark like what North Edsa & MOA did to its Carpark Buildings. But they'll have to remove those solar panels at the top floor. also this is not confirmed that they'll expand the carpark unless they have to.

No kidding, eh? From that vantage point, it would swallow One Shangrila Place!

I guess the silver material is just a protective layer and the building will eventually look blue just like the rest of the glassy part of the mall (and most Ortigas office towers under construction).
