Grozny is rebuilt. Stadium is not all that is building. Even skyscraspers are in progress.

I've seen some reports etc. about the progress being made, but how far has that actually come? The images you posted just seem like renderings.

Anyway in my mind building a stadium like that at present day Grozny just seemed amazing/surreal when thinking of what the city has gone through up untill very recently.

Those renderings look great on computer, but if you have ever been to Grozny, than you understand what K÷btke was talking about.

K÷btke, Grozny and all the Chechnya is being reconstructed with a colossal speed. Here you can find some photos from real Grozny, some renders and constructions sites. Unfortunately its only in Russian.

FC Terek's new Stadium (construction site):

PS. If you interested in Chechen (Vainakh) historical architecture and culture (mythology, democracy, social structure etc.) just let me know.

rus, please dude get over it.. who can decide if we deserve all of these building or not when its our money? Racist groups in Russia calculate only the money spent for investments but never trouble themselves to do the real calculations...

Its estimated that only income from oil wiped out from Chechen Republic covers from %80 to %120 (according to different calculations) of amount officially invested in post-war state. To have full picture you need to add to this fee of cement, gas, aluminum, wood, mineral water, food production (inc. grapes (and cognac), wheat, meet, and honey asn.) and also taxes collected from Chechen population in Chechnya (according to Russian rules %60 of which taken by Moscow from all the regions and Oblsasts) and in other regions of Russia. In purpose of avoiding boycotts from Russian population I wont name Russia's biggest companies which belong to Chechen's. (and world wide giants distribution rights in Russia belongs also to Chechens businessmen.)

Also we can add to this list oil wiped out from Chechnya since Imperial Russia without any return. During Imperial period Chechen oil fields were under control of Terekan Cossack army which didn't know what to do with it and rented it to British companies, Shell and another one(forgot the name).. During all the Soviet Russia period Chechnya was troubled region regardless of the fact that there were tens of researched oil fields and factories etc etc. (FYI, during soviet period from Chechen state wiped out more than 400 million tonnes of petrol.) Even so most of investments done by Soviet Russia were in big cities highly populated by ethnic Russians. Normal Chechen man was or unemployed either working on low payed work. To climb in career he had to work much more than random Russian.

Average income in Grozny was 19 times lower than Moscow, and avarage income of random Chechen in little Chechen cities as Martan, Hudermes, Argun was 5 6 times lower than Grozny. Because of such poverty people in Russia thought that Chechen's are hopeless barbarians or cavemen which would die from hunger if Russia wont pay them. Its looking like situation isn't changed after 100 years.

We payed for prosperity of Russia and Moscow for 100 years. Now its time to spend our money for our needs and prosperity. So rus, please learn to live with it, and get rid of pages like one you linked.

Hope this will end the socio politic discussion... And also hope to see some constructions in other Caucasian States as Daghestan, Ingushetia, Ossetia, Circassia etc.

Ps. Oil production in republic is growing every year, in 2008 it got over 2 million tonnes in a year.

Almost %100 of Chechen's are Muslim, but there is a small population of ethnic Russians for them is build a church in the center of Grozny. To be correct its rebuilt now, during the two wars it was damaged by bombs.

Church of archangel Michael

You'd better ask how many mosques in Moscow. And this church was built to show off. It used to be a lot of russian in Chechnya, but they all kicked out, but many are simply killed chechen neighbors.

Terek is planning to begin next season on this stadium (March 2011). Completion can be earlier.
