I don't like how top-heavy this building is.

I really like this tower's design. Corset is really a good name for it.

I agree, the design kinda fits the term 'corset'

Out of all the towers in this project this one is the most interesting and original. Despite being smaller it has something that I have not seen anywhere else in the world. The rest of towers are beautiful, but nothing new really.

I'm always delighted to see new buildings go up, but I don't really care for the design of this one. And as diverse as NYC is, I don't think it fits the city, it looks like something they would build in a flashier skyline like Riyadh, or Doha. Same with One Hudson Yard (the diagonal grid building), looks like a design for Riyadh's KAFD.

I'm sure it will look beautiful in its own right, I'm just uncomfortable with its location.

I think this is one of the few locations where this is truly appropriate. There will be more residentials to the West and also to the North East. Many will likely have standout designs and this will fit right in. Besides this is right on the highline, a place where architects are expected have some fun.

I'm afraid this towers architecture might age very fast.

I'm afraid angular designs will look dated. Hudson Yards, BofA, 1 Vanderbilt, 400 park, even wtc somewhat. Slanted roofs and sharp angles are taking over. This tower is really unique.

So what? This one is pretty unique for NYC too:

by me

And looks awful. I suppose when It was built 20-30 years ago everone drolled how innovative this design is... mixing old in a new postmodernist way...
Architecture is a little bit like fashion. It's very hard to design building that looks fresh and classy not only a year after creation.

Seems to me like sharp angles and angled roofs are dying out, actually... They've been designed less and less since the 00s decade.

That's a nice building! The only thing that makes it outdated IMO is the cladding. U outfit it with better cladding it would not look outdated. That's cool ur opinion is yours and my opinion is mine.

If the Pingan was located in NYC, then I would think its architecture is outdated cuz we got the spire look down pat. But that's cool, I think it's awesome building and I like it regardless if it's going to look aged or not.

We can go back and forth and will not go anywhere, so I'll leave it at that.

Im glad some people really love this thing. I think its really unattractive but I appreciate that it brings variety. I think Id like it if it didnt go into the 4 rounded sections after the 'corset.' If the top was the same as the bottom Id probably really dig this.

The transition looks a bit weird, but if done well, it should be very cool.
