This seems like a win-win deal for all parties involved.

for real?

did you ever see a well funded and managed project by the government?

do you really think thats what we need to use the tax money for? and if so its better the let a private sector body to lease develop and run it and just take the rental...

Okay, let's get things a little bit clearer here.

Project owner: Bangkok Sky Tower Foundation + Private sector
Land owner: Treasury Department, Ministry of Finance
Land size: 4.2 rai (1.66055 acre | 6,742 sq.m.)
Quote:
Treasury Department -----> leases such plot of land -----> Bangkok Sky Tower Foundation + Private sector
Contract term: 30-year lease; THB 400,000 a year; lease fee can be increased 15% every 5 years; all assets regarding the contract belongs to the Department at the end of the contract.
Project Cost: THB 4.62 billion
Project Funding: Long-term loan + Donation from private firms + Donation from the Foundation
Long-term loan from financial institutions: THB 2.50 billion
Donation from leading private firms: THB 2.10 billion
Donation from the Foundation: THB 500,000

So no need for government to subsidize this project with tax payer's money.

lets agree to disagree....

it all sounds dodgy with donations going to such a project.

Donate for hospitals and social development not for an observation tower...

if this project needs donations to finance it then maybe it reflects of the financial feasibility of such a project.

just long term thinking from my side

Donation for the observation tower is just an investment, then profit from ticket selling will be donated for charity 160 MB per year (by source) before
all property return to treasury department after 30 years. So if it's possible to gain that profit, I think this could be a good project

After reading several of your comments in a couple of threads here, I couldn't help but feel that somehow you despise seeing Thailand having new additions to the city.

Decision whether how the money should be used for rests with its owner. It's none of your, my nor anyone's business here to judge.

Thank you for following my posts.

not such a mature approach you have honestly, as nothing is personal here, we are here for discussion and sharing different opinions and points of view.

as a resident of Bangkok of course i want it to grow and have additions, but i want it to grow wisely and with good additions that benefit its residents for the long term and not things that benefit just some which you can see thats how Bangkok developed till now.

as someone in the business that was involved in some projects in Bangkok i think listening to the feed back and mostly the hard feedback makes me improve and grow better and give a better product and direction.

if you think that Bangkok is perfect and that government related projects and donations are being well managed, well thats you right to think so...

from my experience its not so true...

and for good projects and infrastructures projects that are well planned and executed i would be the first one to applaud and have been doing so in many cases.
