I noticed Schiphol airports buses to take passengers to remote stands are now (all?) electric. I would have thought that the vast majority of the vehicles running round, be they stairs, pulling the luggage and even those large things that push back the aircraft, should be capable to replace over time by electric versions. Then even consider to add solar panels to the roof of the buildings to generate some electricity if it can make sense.

MANTP Update #104 = (16th August-16th September 2019)

As always my thanks go to the MANTP Team for supplying these images and full credit is given to them.

I appreciate that certain images hardly seem to change over the week, at present, however that is the nature of the beast, and I have included them all for completeness.

I wonder if somebody could be so kind as to point me in the right direction for the proposed route of the tram extension? I know it's known as the western loop and where the stops are likely to be, I am just wondering if anybody has any idea of the exact proposed route?

I'm presuming the dashed bit is tunnel? Is that already there from something else? It will be quite prohibitive if they need to dig that out.

Based on the fact that Metrolink comes into the station (Ground Transport Interchange) in a cutting, the continuation to T2 would need to initially be either in a cutting or tunnel.

Yep. The section under the station building is in place.

IIRC the bridge over M60 was replaced as a ‘tram ready’ bridge too. The extension would therefore be quite easy if it weren’t for HS2. I believe the extension will therefore likely be to T2 only at first

A small snippet about the airport’s catchment area.

I’m currently on holiday in the Outer Hebrides. Talking to the bar staff in the local boozer we discussed the practicalities of travel from such a remote area, including ferries and flights taking off on beaches.

The lady mentioned that many people when off on holiday fly to Glasgow then catch the train to Manchester airport as “...it has so many more destinations.”

Seems a lot of work, but makes sense I guess!

This means 235 instead of 189 seats per aircraft. I researched this as the aircraft codes are double dutch to me.
