So lets check the way I had gone to BIAL. I was in the rear seat, belted up, (I know that the cabbie would be flying down the road, he was cruising most time at 120kph.) So it was not easy taking pics.

Bangalore is chilly these days, with over cast skies, so there was not much light also.

View from inside of MERU cab. This is at (old) Airport Road, just left the HAL Airport Gate. Time is around 7:17 am.

The road is being widened in the stretch near the Golf Club area.

Now over Hebbal flyover. Took about 26 minutes to cover the 15 km distance.

Hebbal to the Trumpet Interchange, some 25 kms away

The roads are pretty wide and now lighting has come up throughout the way.

Now entering the loop of the Trumpet Interchange

I think the MERU cabs are RENAULT. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also I saw a GPS type machine in the cab in the first picture on this page.

Is that GPS system or the Electronic meter reader?

Ya, MERU and Easy Cabs are all Mahindra-Renault Logans. I think there are a total of 1000 such city tax's on the road.

MERU is present in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. MERUs are all light green coloured.

www.merucabs.com

EASY CAB is present in Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Easy Cabs are all off white coloured.

www.easycabs.com

In Bangalore and Hyderabad, it is all Logans, but in Mumbai and Delhi I think they are Maruti Esteems.(since introduced earlier, 2006 or so)

@ Bhargavsura, Yes it is a GPS equipment you have seen. There is an electronic meter too and the passenger would be getting a printed reciept. I think I read somewhere that they may introduce payment by debit/credit cards also.

Landscaping is being done along the stretch from Trumpet interchange to BIAL. Also crash barriers on the sides. The distance is around 6 km.

Lot of work to be completed. Landscaping seems to be going on.

Dont think that the lamp posts are slanting, it is the image distortion happening when the camera is moving fast.

The cab took 23 minutes to cover the distance of about 30 kms from Hebbal to BIAL.

I would be flying again through BIAL to Mumbai towards the end of this month. Also have booked another trip to home (Trivandrum) on 10th Sep also. Hope to be more equipped and planned to have more pics then.

I have taken some 3-4 videos also about the drive (Day & night). Would be posting that also soon.

Sudheesh

Those are some great pictures. I am happy to see the great development around the the roads. They are clean and some of the pictures also have good landscaping.

Great.

Also I am impressed with the Meru Cabs equipped with GPS systems. That is another step for development. I wish all the Airports come up with the Meru cabs equipped with such facilities.
