The building is going to be located near the 21st october school near the bedir high school but closer to the Naasa Hablood 2 hotel.
5 storeys building with 12 shops on the ground floor and 40 offices, a modern building with a 2 floors underground car park as well as, solar lighting and grey water systems, and all the perks of digital internet cabling, all in all a great addition to mogadishu.
I love the designs. I passed by this board today, currently, the location of the construction project is a pit of sand. It's beautiful, Mogadishu will be beautiful.
I've noticed one thing, Turkish architects and contractors seem to be getting a lot of contracts (that I've seen). I'm actually glad for it. We get decent designers and buildings with quality. Normally shoddy buildings are a hallmark of a third world country, but it seems Xamar is taking a shortcut.
Although I do agree that the foreign contractors have better aesthetic standards, they also have better access to higher quality materials for a lower price than domestic developers do.
Also due to lack of enforced regulations, it might be just for show. We will have to see if these buildings survive aging in the years ahead.
