With Multiplex signed up, we thought that we were close to a start on Flinders Bank, a three tower hotel/resi complex at the western end of the CBD, but Mirvac has stepped in and bought most of the site for $200 million. Only announced on Xmas Eve, details are sketchy, but the report says that Mirvac is planning an office and build-to-rent apartments. The St Regis group had signed up for Levels 1-11 in the main tower, with the balance of the tower as resi. The report says that the St Regis tower is excluded from the deal, but it does create doubts when a substantial re-design is required for the rest of the site.

The VU tower's core is well above street level now; a Daryl Jackson design.

Adelaide's Realm tower close to completion. Once this receives its final clean, it'll look even more stunning.

EDIT: Construction starting in October

This just got approval for South Perth:
CIVIC HEART 143m & 77m

Finbar (the developers) have a 100% track record with delivering projects, it is part of their marketing, so this will become South Perth's new tallest.

Perth, 'The Link' (aka Perth City Link aka Northbridge Link)

This looks to be a proposal in 'The Link' on lots 6 and 7
It is far beyond the scale we are/were expecting to see proposed but it is not surprising since the lots were purchased by FEC (Far East Consortium) who in the past few years along with Fragrance Group have raised the bar of project standards in Perth, and thank God for their cashed-up-asian pockets that don't require bank finance.

Not sure if it belongs here or in the 150m+ thread but will leave here for now.

Another student tower is about to start, with the Duke of Kent hotel being readied for demolition. 303 La Trobe will be 147m; the latest in the very busy Unilodge family. A resi proposal on the site reached the 97% sale mark, but the developer was unable to stitch up finance, so Cedar Pacific stepped in. Good position, just a few doors from busy Elizabeth Street and Melbourne Central, with the Queen Victoria Market three blocks north. There are already three major student towers under construction within two blocks (175m, 161m and 154m).
