Water Lane

I noticed on my travels that there's demolition going on at the end of Strand Road, opposite Umbertos. Anyone know what's going on?

Seems like someone wants to covert them into flats? Good luck!

Porsche Showroom is being built there. Part of Bowker I think.

New Foster Building?

As our pages of the site is looking rather dead, I wonder if anyone has any opinions on what's being built in front of the Foster Building. It's taking shape now the glazing is going in.

- City Deal road schemes added
- Trampower scheme added
- City Mission development added
- Church Row development added
- Canterbury Hall added
- Maudland Hall added
- Altus added

I've missed quite a bit as well. Seems to be plenty going on at the moment.
Thanks accura - do those projects have their own threads? I'm particularly interested in the Trampower and Maudland Hall ones.

Was wondering if anyone had any photos of the building that's been refurbished on Church Street: https://www.blogpreston.co.uk/2018/0...p-development/

Premier House I think, just want to know what it looks like?

Post Office on Flag Market.

I'm told the developers have run out of money, so nothing further happening there for a while.

Cross St North side. The scaffolding has come down, leaving a partially demolished 70s concrete frame building. Seems to be the same thing.

Park Hotel: LCC seems to be changing it's mind about how much office space it requires, so that and anything to do with Vicar's Bridge is probably in abeyance too.

I'd say that this thread is pretty much dead too, and I wonder why, Tarquin.

One of the three Guild Hall Streetn buildings is moving forward. The other two seem to have hit a wall so to speak.

Possible market cinema re-design? While still not perfect, definitely more sympathetic to the market surroundings than the previous images we’ve seen.

This looks pretty impressive from the initial images. If the materials are good quality it should lead to more investment in the area.

Another tower proposal for the Church Street area - this time on the corner of Church Row and Church Street. 20 storeys.

The named developer (Eastern Estates) doesn't seem to have a website, so it's hard to say whether or not they are actually capable of delivering this. Given historic proposals for this area, I'm very sceptical.

That is showing a different design (above) to what they're showing on Place NorthWest's site, which shows a new scheme.

Apparently there's going to be an announcement about Stoneygate at some point today.

Here is the new design, now branded as LoftHaus and was approved by the council yesterday:

On the face of it, this is a massive improvement on the previous proposal and would probably be the best highrise in Preston (which to be honest isn't hard!)

Further images from the architects website below.

Very impressed - hopefully it goes ahead.

And indeed there was!

Looks promising, but it's going to take a hell of a lot of work to turn the area around.
