making a plastic model from 3D scan

Does anyone know if there is a process from where a 3d model can be made from a photo? I am experienced in creating molds from plastic models but I am wondering if there is a way for me to create a mold from a photograph. In order for me to make a mold that would recreate a 3D structure I would need a #D structure to begin with. So...does anyone know how to create a 3D model from a photograph. I am considering making a scale model of some classic Detroit area skyscrapers but, of course there are no models of these structures. Any information on this project is very appreciated.
TIA

For the textures yes. I know that a somebody did a model of 1WTC. Take a look in the "scale models" section, he maybe could help you.

Yes, there are a few programs for that. But you'll need photos from different angles and still need to retouch your result in a 3D modeling program since this programs are not accurate. But they are a great starting point for very complex geometry modeling.
