The Souls of Acheron (1898), by Adolf Hirémy-Hirschl. In the painting we can see Hermes with a bright halo around his head.
Also here's a lovely music video by one of my most favorite artists, her name is Karolina: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn20s1J6NP0

Music as art part *3*: One of my favorite British artists La Roux with In For The Kill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXtATeQ7GKg
The music video includes a stunning Toyota from the 80's.

Time for music as art part *4*: the stunning Kaliopi singing a song while using the beautiful French language, the song is called Oblivion or J'oublie. The song has so much meaning, I can identify myself with it, I'm very grateful that Kaliopi made a cover of this particular song, naturally I prefer her version of this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=619wKbmVXy4

Some of my favs:

Girl with the Pearl Earring - Veermeer.

The Leavers - Portinari.

The Fall of Icarus - Pieter Bruegel.

L'enfant malade - Arturo Michelena.

Charlotte Corday - Arturo Michelena.

The Misery - Cristóbal Rojas

There's an illustrator that I really like aswell, specially nowadays that I'm really into messy art, and is Olivier Bonhomme:

Oh, and I think this will be of your special interest, Architecture Lover:

Portrait of Fina Gomez - Portinari

Love them all. The portrait has a unique depth and honest look in it, with the black dress it sure is reminiscent of the French Madame X - she was an American expat that married a French guy, and she was so brave in the French society with her bold choices of dresses (for that time) people actually called her Madame X.
I've been absent for some time in this thread but my fascination with Art is as strong as ever!
Here's something I've drooled over recently: All the work of Joseph Christian Leyendecker. He mostly made illustrations for newspapers.

This one has a very Art Deco character, in love with both of their facial expressions, and the fact that the strap of her dress is made of copper tiles as odd as it sounds lol.

It's a strong painting indeed. Latin America has some fine painters, Cristóbal Rojas is one of them. Brazil has some that I like a lot aswell, when I remember the names, I'll post some.

Favorite Artists - Yves Klein

I truly adore Yves Klein, such a great mind. His art: so eccentric, so FREE, so European. So beautiful.

Yves Klein

Yves Klein (28 April 1928 – 6 June 1962) was a French artist and an important figure in post-war European art.
He was a leading member of the French artistic movement of Nouveau réalisme founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany.
Klein was a pioneer in the development of performance art,
and is seen as an inspiration to and as a forerunner of minimal art,
as well as pop art.
