This is like a Bob Ross painting. You’re following on with the progress and then they do something and you’re like “wtf they’ve ruined it why would they do that” but then you keep following along and then you realise “ah makes sense looks lovely”.

My sister mentioned this building to me today at lunch, she'd walked around the area and noticed all the new development in Darling Square plus The Ribbon.

It's certainly getting noticed now and people are seeing how huge it is in person. Will definitely draw attention away from the elevated roads.

If DP4 gets built the whole area will be completely revitalised from Pyrmont bridge down to the edge of Ultimo

As I mentioned before, this Darling Harbour 2.0 is more about building what people will use rather than 1.0 which was what developers and the Govt decided they'd get.

Harbourside was some silly bugger's idea of a tourist drawcard but it was ill conceived and hundreds of small business people (including a couple I know who opened a jewellery shop) went bankrupt.

should have been specific in saying Cockle Bay wharf side.

Harbourside needs some seriously good design language to be brought in. Do they just replace the harbourside piece and leave the IBIS and Novotel as they are or go for the big bang and develop an actual hotel precinct that would rival any in the world. Its an opportunity that will never happen again this close to sydney.

Whoever owns the Novotel site probably isn't in a hurry to redevelop, they'd never get anything taller approved at this point.

Fortunately The Ribbon has no NIMBY neighbours

Re the Ribbon....what looks like beaten copper exterior cladding going up on the outside corners (east side looking up Druitt St).
Also the 3 story glass facade for the main entrance already in place facing the same way.
