Please post pics (if any)?

Did you get to see the 2 blocks (towers) from Inside (lobby, lifts, common passages etc)

What is your opinion on first look - do the 2 towers compare with GIFT-I/II?

Really tired of this question "why not Mumbai?".....because Modi was CM of Gujarat in 2007 when the concept of GIFT city was established, He was the first and the only CM who actually worked on the vision of establishing the IFSC in India. it's that simple, what was Maharashtra CM doing in 2007?? 🤔 first come first served 😊 what is the problem of these people??

To all those naysayers, think Congress-NCP State Govt. ruled Maharashtra state for 15 years until 2014 (Before Modi became PM) and Central Govt. too was Congress-NCP before 2014 for continuous 10 years. Tens and hundreds of eminent scholars and economists urged both governments to make Mumbai an IFSC, why did not they do it? What was stopping both State and Central Govt's to do IFSC in Mumbai when Congress-NCP was in Power? Shouldn't All be asking these questions?

To those racist naysayers and who understand there is a saying 'Dusraanchya Zaadala laagli Phala aani Aapli Zala'

Those racist naysayers want to make country a hostage of one city / state?

PS: I am not against any state doing development work. Just this kind of politics frustrates me. When you see other state doing good things and you miss the boat then try and bring that good work down.

it is simply because GIFT can never become a full fledged IFC when all of the human capital is in Mumbai. So right now it is the case of two centres trying to be sub-opitimally performing instead of one performing at full pace and then helping the smaller one get some traction. It's the case of lose lose for both Mumbai and GIFT

Only the time will tell whether it becomes successful or not but you can't just take away IFSC from newly developing smaller centre out of the fear of failure and give it away to an already successful domestic centre, especially when the that smaller centre has taken the first initiative and has worked hard to make it even relevant....it's because of that smaller centre that now Mumbai is even considering of having an IFSC, so far it was completely ignorant about its potential, even if GIFT remains a suboptimally performing IFSC for a while it's still better than having no IFSC at all which was the case in our country before 2011 thanks to the ignorance of people incharge of our financial capital

It's better to allow other smaller cities and states to progress rather than concentrating everything in three or four big metropolitan cities and then complaining about slums, overpopulation, bad infrastructure, pollution, traffic jams, migration etc etc

You guys have a real mental issue. Ask this question why when human capital and everything was available, Mumbai could not become IFSC? Where was State and Central leadership busy back then for 15 long years ?....LoL we all know, they were busy developing Lavasa (with a 'cut').... a matter of discussion for another thread. . Fact is you guys do hate politics and would support anyone who would show neighboring state down. Why should India be a hostage of one state / city?

I think this non-availability of human capital is being played up too much. Nothing is permanent. Kolkata used to be the de-facto capital of India and home to many businesses and institutions. Then Mumbai gained prominence, now its Delhi. Bangalore emerged in the South, now it is so choked that Hyderabad is emerging as a new destination. If Ahmedabad is able to provide good opportunities and a better quality of life, people will come, as they already are.

India does not have need for more than one IFSC ... so GIFT will thrive and become important financial centre in next decade.

On human capital --- it is Gujarati's who are the backbone of Mumbai's financial prowess ... Gujarati's will provide the necessary talent to GIFT as well.

ethinicites have very less relevance as of now. I don't think any of ibankers or any fund managers would ever shift from Mumbai, they would just start routing things via GIFT or any other fin center making both Mumbai and GIFT work sub-optimally for a very long time. Let's say it takes 25 years for Bombay to get in the big leagues now it would take 40-50 years for both to get in. That was my point.

I think all the cities you mentioned have made their niches and are successfully growing based on that. And hence I don't focus on taking away auto-hub or textile or diamond hub statuses from GJ. it's just about being efficient instead of trying to be jack of all trades. But I guess we'll all have to wait and watch.
