Port Newark, the main port in The Tri-State Area

Port Newark is one of the main and busiest container ports serving The Tri-State area. This port serves ships entering and leaving New York City and is an important trade hub in this region. Developed during the 1950s, the port is located between Newark and Elizabeth, NJ. and is runned by The Port Authority of NY & NJ. Today, the port is ranked the fifth busiest in the world and is the third largest in The United States.

cranes and container everywhere. Hard to believe it is small in comparison to much bigger ports in the world like Singapore and Shanghai. I don't know much about shipping lol.

Yes. Circle Line did a tour of Port Newark along with the Working Harbor Commission. If you follow them on Twitter (@WorkingHarbor) or Facebook you can get updates on the next one. They usually do a handful throughout spring/summer.

Terrific stuff.

Yes. The Circle Line boats could set 200-300 I'd guess. Luckily, this tour wasn't very popular so there was plenty of room to walk around the top deck and get good photos.
