The construction site is here:

You can see the back of the H&R building in the background.

The front of the H&R building is here:

No work going on at the Griffith Building. As strange as it may sound I think that mysterious company out of Ramsey NJ is The Berger Organization incognito.

I see windows are out and the building looks even more of an empty shell than before. I'm guessing financing deals fell through. My inquiries to the architect on Facebook were met with silence.

Iíll be pretty surprised if this development looks any good. On one side it appears there wonít be any windows.

A sign the Griffith Building rehab isn't (completely) dead -- on August 15, Brick City Reconstruction posted a rather strange assortment of renderings under a post about the adaptive reuse of the Griffith Building on their Facebook page. At the pace of one window replacement a week, they should be finished at roughly the time I retire.

NEWARK | Low/Mid Rises | General Developments Updates/Compilation

Could it be that 31 of the 41 units in the Kislak Building have rented already? Only 10 available units shown on the website. So whose the sucker who would pay nearly $3300 for a two bedroom two bathroom on the third floor with a windowless living room? The unit is likely quite nice but $3300? Come on.

Petco is going out of business. One step forward and two steps back.

They did both the Dino BBQ building in RockPlaza Lofts and the Hotel Indigo. Hopefully the Griffith Building renovation will be just as good, when it finally happens!
