Where does it say 750m? Does look massive, but personally I have to agree with FM, looks like a massive Gherkin.

just estimation of barbaric.

personally i do not say anything about the design until i see better renders, looks good so far. i wouldn't compare it to gherkin though (i hate gherkin), it is more like wuhan greenland center

On gaoloumi they said the architect will be Terry Farrel and the developer is Kingkey Group. So, same architect and developer as KK100.

yeah i am, gherkin still looks like a butt plug and this doesn't (imo). because this is in general a bit longer or more streched, similar to greenland center and not as round as gherkin, that's what i meant

THIS CITY IS GREAT!!!!!

Isn't this going to be Shenzen's second 600m+ tower?

As I've said previously, Shenzen's clearly has eclipsed HK as the No. 2 city in China. In fact, it may eclipse even Shanghai at this rate. I love HK, but it not built an iconic tower since the Bank of China. Its two supertalls from the past ten years are no more iconic than 1 WTC, 15 Penn, or 432 Park.

As noted, HK is truly great, but Shenzen appears to be unreal!

Actually, the more I think about it aren't Shenzen and HK within 50km of each other? If so, notwithstanding any travel restrictions between them, they're in effect one metro area. Amazing!

Shenzhen and HK share one metro. they could basically be one city if it wasn't for the political status of HK. only the mountains and a few HK golf courses divide the cities basically

That's what I thought. This is the world's greatest metro area. One day, people may be able to take a train from Central in HK to the center of Shenzhen in 30 minutes.

Don't forget Guangzhou (and Dongguan)! In a few years the Pearl River Delta will be one single metro area...and all of the three larger cities with pretty impressive skylines.

In 2015 you can get to Guangzhou in 30 minutes with the HK-GZ high speed rail line

Between HK, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, this must be the largest metro in the world! Wasn't Shenzen favored by Deng? If so, perhaps that's why it gets so much investment.

GZ and SZ is not connected via metro, but i think the connecting trainlines are quite good.
