The Regal site ain't big enough for a devent underground carpark. It's a tiny amount of space, the only way I could see they fitting as big one in is if it was controlled by a robot like the Cube.

This is what they actually should have done for Morrisons. If they had built proper foundations and a decent structure, they could still have built offices and apartments above it in future, and 90% of the opposition to it would have been nullified. Instead they let them get away with the murder of one of the main gateway sites into the city.

Works progressing well on this, can't really tell from the photos but there are a few diggers etc on the top of this clearing the upper level away:

Ah yes, this is the sight I was looking for with regards to the activity in the area, couldn't pin point it until now. Are the plans open to change for this site then as the first part is a car park? Anyone know?

I was told that the tower cranes have 40m of tower, I think that's 20 above and 20 below but don't quote me on that lol

I'd probably 70 was a mis type and was actually meant to be 17m below street level, would make sense then

You can just about make out the basement in this photo. I would say 20m sub-surface is about right.

Has C&B secured any pre-let on this at all yet? - as for the MSCP, I might look ugly but if it's open to the public, it certainly makes reasonable business sense in this immediate area....

If this goes ahead to the images in Woodhousens post above then it will have a huge impact on the skyline - particularly when entering the city from the North.

expect no more than 75m that was the maximum in outline planning as apparently West Midlands police were concerned about it being any higher effecting its radio mast on lloyd house.

That said rumours are they are looking to move out so could lead to an app for a taller maximum height

As for the pre let nothing official has been announced, they're hoping to secure one ready for the completion of phase 1 to begin immediately on site for phase 2

I'm really struggling to get my head around this project, I just don't understand how a building can be semi completed, occupied, then construction resume whilst occupied.

Not only that, but there is no way of knowing what it will look like when complete.
