I'm soooooooo tired of Miami pretending they're getting a zillion supertalls yet nothing ever pops above 800 feet

I really hate these stacked box towers.. they ruin entire skylines if you ask me. Hope it gets cancelled or redesigned.

Sales Center For 93-Story Tower Will Be Ready By Spring

Global Hotel Brand to Open in Miami’s Proposed Next Tallest

A new skyscraper is planned to radically change downtown Miami’s iconic skyline — and introduce the city to a widely-known hotel brand.

The Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences Miami, to be located at 300 Biscayne Boulevard, will mark the debut of the Waldorf Astoria brand in Miami. The company, which is owned by Hilton Hotels, operates 30 properties worldwide, including two in Boca Raton, two in Key West and one in Orlando.

Designed by the Miami firm Sieger Suarez Architects, the tower will resemble a pile of unevenly-stacked glass cubes. The building is projected to reach 1,049 feet (316 meters), making it one of the tallest in Florida. The current titleholder is the Panorama Tower in Brickell, which stands at 828 feet (252.4 meters).

The project is a joint venture between the New York-based Property Markets Group (PMG), Toronto’s Greybrook Realty Partners and the Miami-based S2 Development.

PMG is also the developer of X Miami, a 464-apartment rental tower at 230 NE Fourth Street, that is part of the company’s X Social Communities division, which offers rent-by-bedroom apartments pitched at millennials. That building opened earlier this year.

The Waldorf Astoria project is proposed to include 140 hotel rooms and 400 condos, though the total number of units and price ranges in the new building are still to be determined. Pre-sales on the project aren’t scheduled to begin until late 2019. Total sales are expected to be over $1 billion.

this is gaining momentum. After all of this time and so many proposals it might just be Miami's first supertall.

Downtown Miami’s 98-Story Waldorf Astoria Gets Pre-Construction Loan

cant wait til this horrible trend ends. the "innovative" factor of this style died 5-7 years ago. a shame that Miami's tallest might fall to this gimmick. its a cheap and easy way to make a building look different for the sake of different.

18 Months Later of Sales going To the roof, Construction and elevator , Water and Sewer Hookups Contracts Being signed, and This Sales Center is being Torn Down, DEMO the whole site,

I don't get why its being moved to 400 Biscayne Chuck. Maybe they plan to do some piling work like they did at 400? Who knows?

Very True Marcvader Why 400 Biscayne ??, I guess it's a Bigger Lot size there for The Other Tower there at 400 Biscayne under construction, Remember there at 400 Biscayne, it's just a rental Tower there at 400 Biscayne Under Construction, where the church Was Demo and cleared for the Miami - Dade Community College students to rent and board for 2 to 4 Years there at the college from other states and countries , ,
