oh come on! they are just good looking stations, that's all,
there are many similar metro stations all around the world,
yu may consider the paris stations with the old madrid metro stations, there a bit similar, too
and if the from HK ones are just as beautifull as these here - it only means - HK made it good, in order to copy the way to style the stations.

Hong Kong's MTR is providing a lot of consultancy services to mainland cities' metro projects. Without the station names, they'd look like any typical Hong Kong MTR station.
