You know, people from all over the world can come to SOF with one easy transfer. You made it sound like there are only low cost point to point flights which is completely wrong. The flight from IST is 50 min, for example.

Of course, I would love for us to have an intercontinental airport with connections to all over the world but this isn't realistic. So, I don't see the point in high fees that keep low costs away. We had that for many years and what was the result?

And like I told you in the other thread, legacies have absolutely no problem with the low fees.

Everyone has their own opinion. I don't like business model "low cost everywhere", that's it.

Ljubljana Airport unveils new terminal

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has announced the construction of a second terminal building at a press conference in the Slovenian capital today. The new facility, valued at sixteen million euros, will be opened to the public in time for the 2020 summer season, which begins on March 29 that year. The construction of the new structure will allow for the airport to handle 1.280 passengers per hour, up from the current 500, and will feature a total of 22 check-in desks, five security lanes, as well as a new premium lounge. The building will stretch over an area of 8.700 square metres. The existing terminal will remain partially in use and will be utilised by low cost and charter carriers. Ljubljana Airport's General Manager, Zmago Skobir, said this is part of the airport's efforts to differentiate between scheduled full fare airlines and other carriers.

The current terminal building in use at Ljubljana Airport was built in 1973 but has since been reconstructed and refurbished. It stretches over an area of 13.000 square metres. The new facility will be built next to the existing one, towards Šenčur, and will be connected to it. Further expansion remains possible. The company running the airport, Aerodrom Ljubljana, which is 100%-owned by Germany's Fraport, also announced a change in its name to Fraport Slovenia, in order to increase its international visibility and appeal. Ljubljana is facing increasing competition from nearby airports which are investing heavily in improving their infrastructure. "Fraport is development-oriented, but has a very cautious and conservative development policy. The fact is that we now have a strategic owner who has a great understanding of the development process", Mr Skobir, said.

Meanwhile, the overhaul of the existing terminal should begin this autumn and it should be fitted with new technology. Ljubljana was the only capital city airport in the former Yugoslavia to see its passenger numbers decline in 2016. It handled 1.404.831 travellers, down 2.3% on the year before. However, it is off to a strong start this year with 288.355 passengers welcomed during the first quarter, up 17.5%. The airport's management estimates that growth will avarage 3.1% on an annual basis in the coming years.

strašan projekt! nisam znao da su već toliko odmaknuli s izgradnjom, na Google Earthu se lijepo vide obrisi i terminalske zgrade i svih pista.

Do nedavno uopće nisam registrirao da su još prošle godine otvorili treći bosporski most. Francuzi napravili ljepoticu...po običaju.

Turci rasturaju. Ko kinezi.

za most sam znao. doduše, sasvim slučajno jer sam pratio izgradnju onog mosta preko Izmitskog zaljeva, a oba su otvoreni u razmaku od tjedan-dva. pa mi ništ nije bilo jasno dok nisam malo prošnjofao da su ekspresno napravili i treći bosporski.vrlo je interesantno da je most gotov prije same širokopojasne obilaznice O6 (ovo što sad vodi do mosta je tek privremeno, ali nevjerojatno pametno isplanirano jer trenutni spoj prema mostu neće nakon 2019. ostati tek bezvezna autocesta oko Istanbula, već će služiti kao glavni spoj grada s novim aerodromom)

Ma pratio sam početne rasprave, bunt kontra Erdogana radi uništavanja Beogradske šume, pričali mi lokalci kolko je to strašno itd...pa sam mislio da to nikad neće ni krenuti. Al eto - već je gotovo.

Taj će zbilja i napraviti onaj tunel za brodove paralelan s Bosporom!

za podvodni tunel kao četvrti cestovni spoj znaš da je pušten u promet pred koji tjedan?

sad im je najveći projekt most preko Dardanela, kojeg su počeli pred 2 tjedna graditi.

jedino što nekako nije zaživjelo je željeznički tunel u Istanbulu. nisam siguran koliko to funkcionira mimo lokalnog prometa.

Da, da... Turska već sada ima najveću zračnu luku na Balkanu i treću u Europi (Ataturk). A sada s novom zračnom lukom Yeni Istanbul planira postati broj 1 na svijetu po broju putnika...

Istanbul Ataturk je 5. zračna luka u Europi po broju putnika. Idu redom London LHR, Paris CDG, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul.

IST je pao na 5. mjesto zbog terorizma što su imali prošlu godinu.

A za biti prvi u svijetu... ne ide to baš tako... nešto se pita i Kineze
