Beautiful pics guys. The Woolworth is the highest scoring building in a skyscraper themed board game I'm developing. Have a look at the Facebook page when you have time.

Just a question, ¿Do you know for how long are these old buildings built to last until they fall?

NYC's old buildings are a lot more rigid than most buildings built today, and they undergo renovations to prevent deterioration. As the world's tallest building for the time, i'm sure they built it to last; dunno if the original developers and architects had any idea of how long that would be

If there are still some buildings surviving from the BC era, this building will have no problem surviving for thousands of years.

I'm fortunate to see this building from different perspectives almost every day. I'm enjoying all the pictures that have been posted.

The Woolworth Building looks more like Gothic-cathedral-on-steroids.

once or maybe twice a month (weather permitting) you can have this sight of the Woolworth Building. A shame I didn't have my camera that morning (earlier this week), so I relied on my phone... apologies for the lack of quality

The Devil is in the detail by Tony Shi, on Flickr

Taken on February 27, 2015. Still one of the best Woolworth photos I've seen! Love the building.. Love the detail.

Here's a picture of how it was originally though.. It used to be even more beautiful and detailed. (see the corner towers)

I wonder what happened to them..?

I guess I found the explanation..

"The most significant loss of original terra cotta ornament over the past century was the tourelles- the four little towers that rose from the 49th to 51st story at the corners of the main shaft..."
