Canopy will be over the old JD for now only

Once all the units are done to spec a canopy will be added around with other street level improvements

My understanding is this will remove the need for more supports if done bit by bit

I'm curious, why have they not attracted a major supermarket to the area such Asda or Sainsbury's similar to Longbridge town, or even a Tesco Metro. Surely this would increase footfall to the area?

There will be a food store opening here as a part of the development, Aldi or Lidl I think it was, there’s a large Sainsburys in Castle Vale but I think it could be down to poor transport links, really could do with the Metro running up here, stopping at Star City first.

Superdrug is launching a 10,000 square feet store - making it the largest Superdrug in the UK - complete with a beauty studio featuring a Nail Bar and Brow Bar

Sports Direct is also moving into the space where M&S Food used to be, next to River Island - and be ten times the size of its current Fort store.

Due to open in spring 2020, the store will include luxury-clothing retailer, Flannels, which will sit within Sports Direct but have its own standalone store frontage.

It may be the largest now, but I reckon the former Superdrug in Wolverhampton to have been just over 10,000 sq ft. Does that mean Wolves once had the world's largest Superdrug I wonder?

Not sure about the wolves store but the unit size is bigger than 10k sq ft so that is actual sales space
