I've always looked at each UCs as seperate universities with barely any ties to each other, but that's just me.

It was established back in 59.

Excellent pictures, 612bv3. The UCSD Hillcrest Medical Center was of personal interest to me.

I remember studying the "Sun God" sculpture for my AP Art History class. Somehow I feel like climbing it.

That looks cool. It's a bird right?

I wont post anymore pictures until the next page, I don't want to slow down the loading time for this page.

Yes, it was created by Niki de Saint Phalle. The athletics nickname for UCSD teams should be "Sun Gods" instead Tritons. At least it sounds more original.

The UCSD Library seems to be disconnected from the rest of the campus. It looks like it sits there by itself.

Great pics of SD, but the aerials are slightly outdated.

If this thread stays alive, I will eventually take a few pics and post them here.

Nobody insults the library here, because they've all seen it in person.

UCSD is just over 40 years old. Revelle's construction broke ground in 1959 and the first round of classes was held in 1964. One of the main reasons Revelle was successful at lobbying the state for approval was b/c of Sputnik. Essentially UCSD exists because of the USSR.

So seeing it in person is a completely different story, huh? Well, that's good. I didn't mean to insult it, just letting out my apparently unwanted opinion; lol. Nothing against UCSD, though; it's a very well-respected university in a great location. Not bad for a campus younger than 50.
