Except that Zhuhai is more populous and more prosperous than Macau these days. Although Macau is much more well known to the rest of the world.

There are some highrises on Hk side also, but there is a buffer zone in between.

No, you can't see Shenzhen skyline from the HK's main skyscrapers district and vice versa.

If you look on a map, you'll see that there's basically a tropical mountain in between Shenzhen and Hong Kong CBDs.

I remember reading somewhere than 70% of HK is mountainous. Put a lot of pressure of the flat land but also that's a good recipe for going tall and having a great skyline.
