I completely disagree with both of you. All I see is an elegant wooden building with a restful color palette. I think it looks much better than this...

It’s architecture is pleasant and works fairly successfully, but it’s a tad dark for a kindergarten. If they’d painted it white there’d be no issue.

Maybe you are right... Personally, I prefer more dark tints.

What makes these look modern is the glass. Single panes are a modern invention.

Doesn't look scary to me.
Wood, painted black oil still looks like a wood, and rather look grey at sunny days.

I think this HAS to be featured here.

Chinese copycat cities\places

"Little Paris" in Tianducheng, Hangzhou.

Thames Town 30 km off Shanghai.

Tianjin's own Florence covers impressive 200,000 sq m.

Donggang's Venezia in Dalian.

France's Maisons-Laffitte Palace in the suburb of Beijing.

Parthenon in Lanzhou.

But not it's only the West that is the Chinese obsession. In a copycatt village of Huaxi, Jiangsu province, they copied the Great Wall.

This church looks postmodern, but I like it because of its charming simplicity

This is Venice, not Florence. The architecture is surprisingly similar to Venice, except for the Roman amphitheatre. It even features the traditional altana, wooden rooftop terrace.

There is a Gondola but the architecture is from Germany, Austria or France. Nothing even remotely similar to those buildings exist in Venice
The roofs, especially, are completely and totally off. Compare with previous picture
