The stadium itself is cheap for sure(35-40 mil tops!),but some people will be pulling A LOT of money from this project, many will get rich from this.

I really like the way you handle a discussion now as you don't have anything more to say - beat it finally.

And now a smaller hall could be built there (about 5k ) , in fact there were a couple of great projects made, but only in idea phase.

As for the big Sports arena in Sofia (over 10,000 capacity), it's a question that was raised long time ago, but still nothing sure about location, funding , etc. Both the government and municipality announced plan for building multi-functional arenas in the city, but nothing approved so far. I won't go to further details , because you'll get bored

That was the idea projects that municipality bought to consider sport facility Yunak, but for now there's not a big chance to see one of them started:

This I think is the best looking indoor arena project I've seen in a while. Nice

It's a velodrome after all, it's kinda hard to put much innovation in it.

However, finally we have news about the winner project for a multi-purpose sport arena in Sofia
Those are the first renders ,they aren't final and some design changes could be possible in future.

basic data:

capacity: 12 395
capacity (non sport events) up to 16 000
car park for 1040 vehicles

total cost : apx 54 mln EUR
completion : 24 months
financing : state budget

It's not clear if the construction will start this year. I'll keep you informed about any movement on the project.

There are plans for major reconstruction and enlargement of Varna's hall as well, it is indeed outdated and small today, but it has nice design and potential for future with the right actions taken. Mind that this hall is 40 years old after all , according to Varna municipality and the hall administration about 20mln EUR are needed as only the main exterior concept will be kept from its original look.

Nice arena but maybe somewhat small for a city like Sofia?
I don't know the situation there but I can say that a number of smaller ex-Yugoslav cities, such as Novi Sad, Nis, Split, Ljubljana, Podgorica & Skoplje either already have or plan for similar sized arenas (10-14k capacity)

Yes, we discussed that a lot in our forum, IMO 12-13k capacity is just fine for the current situation here. The city plans to have at least one more arena of similar or bigger size in the near future, probably located in city's outskirts. Location of that one is relatively close to the center and it will be next to the new government complex which is planned in the area. It would be quite hard to make a bigger arena there, since the plot also neighbors existing training sport complex.

And I think it's OK, because a 15 000 or bigger arena wouldn't be much rational in mid term perspective.
Its rent will be too high for the local clubs matches and other events as well, moreover it's jut too big for domestic use and practically only the national volley team got a chance to fill it up. Sofia now has a big gaps in sport arenas, since our halls are all 60s-70s built and I think it's better to replace and develop sport infrastructure gradually. And this could be a good step.

One of the biggest advantages in such facilities is that you can win to host major sport events. And basically at least for Europe you can do that with a hall about 10-13k for most tournaments.

You will have an indoor arena of size like Real Madrid BC has.Have you any team so strong like Real Madrid BC?No?So it is not too small for you.
