The RUB joining Wardha road to Manish Nagar will soon be open for the residents of Manish Nagar and adjoining areas.

The Nagpur Maha Metro has constructed the RUB to divert the heavy traffic flow from the railway crossing near Manish Nagar keeping in view the public need.

According to the information received, in a period of one month, the RUB will be functional. The responsibility of the construction of RUB has been given by the National Highway Authority to Maha Metro.

The length of Manish Nagar RUB is 500 meters. The flow of traffics will be from both sides as it is two-way.

After completing the box culvert work, the work of joint expansion will start. Also, three chambers have been prepared for drainage so that there is no accumulation of water on the RUB. With the construction of RUB, this route will now be accessible and easy for commuters.

Nag river rejuvenation: NRCD clears Rs2,434cr escalated cost

Nagpur: In a major step towards rejuvenation of city’s iconic Nag river, the National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD) on Tuesday approved escalated cost of Nag River Pollution Abatement Project. The cost has increased 65%, from Rs1,476.96 crore to Rs2,434 crore, due to inordinate delay and inclusion of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

City MP and Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari held meeting with officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), NRCD, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), at New Delhi on Tuesday. Gadkari reportedly directed NRCD to give approval to revised project cost, which was done immediately after the meeting. Municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar was also present.

The NMC general body had approved revised project cost on July 23 and submitted it to NRCD. Since then, the project was pending for approval with NRCD. Bangar told TOI Gadkari also directed NRCD officials to complete process of loan agreement between Government of India and Government of Japan as soon as possible. “NRCD will write a letter to Central government’s department of economic affairs on Wednesday to hold discussions with Government of Japan. Then, loan agreement will be signed followed by tendering process for appointing contractors to execute the works,” he said.

Bangar added NRCD will also write a letter to the state government to seek its guarantee for the loan. “Share of Centre in the project is 60%, 25% of state and remaining 15% of NMC. JICA will approve long term loan for shares of Centre and state, which they will repay. NMC will only have to contribute its share of 15%,” he said.

When Gadkari and officials of NRCD asked why project cost escalated, Bangar said it was due to price escalation and inclusion of GST. “Project cost of Rs 1,476.96 crore was prepared as per prices in 2014. When they were revised, cost increased to Rs 2,434 crore including GST of Rs 350 crore and consultant fees,” he said.

The project also covers rejuvenation of Pili river along with Nag river and will take four years to complete. JICA had given inprinciple approval, conducted inspection of Nag, Pili rivers and approved the detailed project report (DPR) before it was submitted to NRCD.

NMC is also preparing Nag Riverfront Development Project of Rs 1,600 crore. France-based AFD (French Development Agency) is preparing the DPR and likely to approve long term loan for the project.

Gandhisagar Lake to get Rs31.08cr makeover, to host 32 ‘khau galli’ stalls

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to execute works worth Rs31.08 crore for rejuvenation and beautification of Gandhisagar Lake situated in Central Nagpur. The lake is also likely to host ‘khau galli’ with 32 stalls, music system and other recreational activities soon.
On Saturday, the NMC’s project department started tendering process for appointing a private agency to execute works. The state government had approved Rs12 crore and the remaining funds of Rs19.08 crore will be borne by the NMC.
The NMC will desilt the lake probably for the first time under the project. A retaining wall of around 1.7km situated around the sprawling lake will be repaired and strengthened.
The project will be the biggest-ever in the history of city’s water bodies. Earlier, the NMC had rejuvenated Sonegaon and Pandhrabodi lakes with the help of government’s Rs3.24 crore and Rs 3.33 crore, respectively, 3-4 years ago.
Two years ago, the civic body had constructed artificial idol immersion tank inside Gandhisagar Lake and public toilets with the help of funds of Rs1.78 crore approved by the government.
The NMC had appointed Neeri to rejuvenate Naik Lake recently and works are likely to begin soon. A proposal to revive Futala Lake, also with the help of Neeri, has been prepared.
During ‘Breakfast With Mayor’ held on December 1, mayor Sandip Joshi, responding to a complaint from an NGO, assured to start ‘khau galli’ on or before January 1. The civic body had developed the project by spending Rs80 lakh three years ago, but it is yet to start for the public.
Responding to Joshi’s announcement, NMC garden superintendent Amol Chorpagar floated expression of interest to rent out 32 stalls. The interested food joints have to quote their rents. The NMC will charge Rs1,000 for processing, Rs5,000 per month for maintenance and Rs5,000 as security deposit.
On Saturday morning, Joshi inspected ‘khau galli’ with corporators of ward no. 17 under which the lake falls. Chorpagar, Dhantoli zone assistant commissioner Kiran Bagde and others were present. Joshi directed the officials to repair damaged portions of stalls, flooring etc. He also asked the officials to ensure proper display boards and functioning of all streetlights. He proposed to install water ATM to facilitate potable water to people coming to ‘khau galli’.
The NMC’s plan is to develop similar concepts at remaining lakes considering the experience of ‘khau galli’ of Gandhisagar Lake.

Nagpur: Rs 465 crore tender floated for redevelopment of railway station

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/73145880.cms

NAGPUR: The Indian Railways Station Development Corporation Limited (IRSDCL), which has been entrusted with redeveloping 600 stations across the country, has floated tenders for redevelopment of Nagpur station at a cost of Rs465 crore.
“Applications have been invited from private parties for request for qualification (RFQ). IRSDCL intends to pre-qualify and shortlist suitable bidders eligible for participation in the bid stage for awarding the project through an open competitive process. The last date to receive bids is February 6,” said IRSDCL officials.
Of the Rs465 crore indicative project cost, Rs361.50 crore will be towards construction. Of the total land area of over 5.50 lakh sq m, built up area for commercial monetization will 20 lakh sq ft. Lease rights to the end users will be up to 99 years.
The concessionaire shall, in consideration of its investment and services, be entitled to levy and collect a pre-determined user fee for specified station facilities, recover charges for use of specified spaces and services within the station, and undertake development and commercial exploitation of station estate in accordance with the provisions of the concession agreement.
“If all goes well by year-end final contract will be awarded and work will start early next year. The broad scope of the work involves developing the station within three years from the effective date, and the commercial development within eight years of signing the agreement,” they said.
The developer will design and develop infrastructure by dismantling existing structures on the land forming part of the station. This shall also integrate all public transport modes such as city bus, state regional bus service, metro rail, railways and intermediate public transport modes such as auto-rickshaw and taxis.
The project envisages provision of central concourse as passenger departure and holding area, providing seamless interconnectivity to railway platforms, proposed metro, parking zones etc. The plan at request for qualification (RFQ) stage has been prepared by French architect ENIA.
Development of facilities to handle over 2.20 lakh passengers, retail zones, parking of over 114 four-wheelers and 1,000 two-wheelers, 24 lifts and 16 escalators to ease passenger movement are some of the features of the station redevelopment.
“This is the best opportunity to work with the railways. We are hopeful to get some local party and if not, there are outsiders who have shown keen interest in Nagpur. Developers can also form a consortium to bid for the project. The conditions are very transparent and IRSDCL will help get all the sanctions,” said officials.
