Went there last week trying to look for a Christmas gift. Quirky stuff but left empty handed.

For people interested it's equivalent to an average size Japanese store, pricing was around 20% percent higher than Japan on most products. 80%ish of product have the original japanese Muji stickers on them that show the price in yen. All in all I was very happy as they stock the bulk of the Muji stationery products.

A larger store will open in Melbourne Emporium in the CBD, so no need to venture to Chadstone !

I found an article that said they're "eyeing sites in Melbourne", but it doesn't say where these sites are.

That is very good news - it would be excellent if they had a food hall - but I think I saw an article that said it may be clothes and homeware to begin with.

With the huge flat roof on the Lonsdale Street building of Melbourne Central, the creative use of it this summer as a tennis court is excellent and should be developed as public tennis courts - Photo

Wow, yet another massive stadium for Melbourne...what is the capacity ? hmmm is it 50, but then maybe doubled on the side not shown...world class...I would throw in a Mexican Wave but I am not sarcastic, it just looks like I am on computer sites...as usual.

I remember when there was a creche on that roof, so the mummys of early 90s Melbourne could could go Daimaru to shop for potpourri and 'sushi' childfree.

Why does Brisbane get a big Apple retail store before we do?

Because they could find an adequate site there. Apparently they're having trouble finding a site they are happy with here. It's not the end of the world.

When I was in Melbourne a fortnight ago I thought that the RipCurl shop on the corner of Swanston St and Little Bourke could make a good Apple store.

I mean- who the hell wears that brand anyway- surely they'd be better off tucked away in Melbourne Central.

I thought the GPO site was suitable for Apple but I guess not!

I remember reading Apple wanted to be on Collins St, between Russell and Elizabeth, on a site with like a 20m glass frontage. Amazingly enough, couldn't find it :/

Swanston St is totally grotty. I don't think Apple would go there even if they were given the place for free!

Stores currently opened at GPO will be soon pushed out to make way for H&M, opening is aimed to be around late FEB-March. H&M has already placed advertisements around GPO promoting its arrival into Melbourne.

Good things comes to those who wait! Believe me, Apple really wants to open in Melbourne but is unable to find a suitable space that they desire or one that suits Apple's specific needs. Brisbane just happened to have a suitable space for Apple.

TBH if Apple wasn't serious about Melbourne, we would have already had a store like Perth or Adelaide in Melbourne Central.
