Amazing pictures!
Loved 'the Story of Puenktchen and Anton', the rainbow zebra crossing and oldtimer tram, the beauty of Volksgarten, this and this and others

Great and colorful photos, dear Silvia!
The Life Ball promises a lot. The scenery is fantastic and the people look very enthusiastic.

Thank you all for your likes! I really appreciate your kind comments,
dears skymantle, Christos, Roman, Roberto and Robert!

Vienna is suffering from a heat wave right now so I'm sitting here
at night, enjoying the cooler temperatures.
I've got the impression that during the last few weeks the interest
in the pictures I posted has decreased (sinking number of "likes",
compared to earlier times).

Yesterday I made many shots of people during the Rainbow Parade,
but for the first time I'm not sure if I should post them, if here is enough

interest what's going on in Vienna, especially during the Euro Pride.
Yesterday was a hot day in Vienna - in more than one meaning of the word. .

For me the pictures are a nice remembrance, but, as I said before,
I'm not so sure...
If some of you want to see impressions of the Schoenbrunn Zoo again,
you find them in this part of the forum:

https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=2183096

I wish everyone a good night! The climate at daytime is much too hot
here, so I'm really hoping for coming thunderstorms and a cooling down.
4 in the morning, and the birds already are starting to sing!

Do please post more pics Yansa, we luv it.

I have found over time that it gets a little less active this time of the year on this part of the forums when it's summer-time in the northern hemisphere, so please don't despair. Even if people are not liking as much, they're still viewing, believe me and you've done so well. We really appreciate it. Looking forward to the parades and other stuff.

Thank you, dears skymantle and Christi and Jane, this is very encouraging for me!
Maybe it's only the hot summer time and people spend more time outside
than on internet. But I'm still sad about all the former members who
have left this thread - obviously for ever.

But let's try to get into a positive mood again by starting to post the pics
from the...

Rainbow Parade Vienna 2019

It was a big event, about half a million people are said to have taken place
in this wonderful celebration/parade/demonstration.

Shooting back!

A lovely and pretty lesbian couple:

Despite temperatures up to 34 degrees Celsius so many spectators
had come to Ringstrasse, where the event took place.

The wonderful biker group of the parade:

... with unicorn backpack...

Welcome, Bavaria!

In the distance you can see the two special trams of the event:

The whole event was taking place in a very good and peaceful atmosphere,
and there were no problems at all (except that some people had
a heat collapse, but that's nothing extraordinary when you are on
your feet for hours at such high temperatures).

So much to see!

And at this moment a thunderstorm is coming to Vienna!
I'm completely happy.

Wow! The temperatures..... We're off to Rome again next week and I think the temperatures have been in the low 30s there too - but will cool down a bit as the week progresses to 26/27.

June has been a wash-out here in Britain. Rain, rain and more rain - and below average temperatures for the time of year. This time last year there was a heatwave.

Such summer festivals and events are so weather dependent - and their success is very much dependent on the sun attending too.

Thank you for your nice feedback, dear Jane!
I wish you a lovely stay in Rome, with sunny weather, but not too hot!

Rainbow Parade

The two special trams meanwhile are an institution of the parade:

One of the many, many music trucks:

Another truck with music and steam!

The people up there were in good mood.

A colour spot in the crowd:

This is the most colourful day Ringstrasse sees during the whole year.

Beautiful photography on the truck:

Flags everywhere...

Will be continued!

Great shots of the Pride Parade, Silvia, and good to know it was peaceful. Looking forward to catching up with your earlier sets.

Great pictures of the Rainbow Parade in Vienna. Colorful, cheerful and very well organized.

Wonderful update and thread, dear Silvia!

Dear Roberto, I admit, I sometimes thought of quitting.
But, as you say, the visits in the threads here in general seem to lessen.
What I very much regret is the withdrawal of many former forum mates
and friends.
I'm very thankful for the people who stayed and still are interested
in other people's threads.

Thank you very much for your kind words, dear friend!
At the moment some things of "real life" need my attention, and we have
a heat wave here in Vienna, but in some time (maybe soon) I will try
to find time to continue with the colourful pics of the Rainbow Parade!

By the way: Is it allowed to post a pic of a nearly naked male parade
member (he wears a leather dress which more or less only constists
of small belts. But we only see his (well trainied) behind and the
most intimate parts of the body are covered with leather.

Not that they throw me out of the forum because of posting a "naked man"!

Thank you all for liking, especially Patrick for giving a "like" to my last post!

Special thanks for your encouraging and nice comments, dears Christos, Christi, skymantle,Nick, Roberto (and Roman)!

More from the parade:

Very nice, colourful truck with the motto "Violence is the weapon of the weak."

This guy "lend" his child to couples who wanted to make a photo with child.
The child seemed to enjoy this.

Beautiful costumes were to be seen (and nice smiles to the photographers ):

That nice couple again:

Some shirts matched perfectly with some flags.

Always nice to watch also are the reactions of the spectators:

The most eye-catching and weird shoes I saw this year so far :

There was no answer if I shall post the pic of this living Greek statue so far,
so I just risk it. Don't forget, he is clad, wearing a very revealing leather "suit".

He even wears a kind of "figleaf", but made of leather.

Some more of the parade coming later or another day!
