No doubt, one of my peoples went there a few years back and dude put me up on it. I plan to have a lil spot there or go 50/50 on a spot with one of my peoples. Muanda or Kalemie on the east need to be turned into a holiday, casino and gambling spot, like las vegas or macau.

Muanda is the future real estate battlefield in the DRC. Rumours have it that Kabila's family has gone on a shopping spree there. Soon 5 star hotels will be poping up out of nowhere.

It hasn't started yet. Congolese bureaucracy Syndrome.

Muanda, what an asset for the country's tourist industry! This city could be a beautiful resort with a dozen highrises 4 to 5-star hotels, modernized streets with lights and a well maintained beach..and obviously, an airport.Wealthy Congolese would certainly love to spend weeks of vacations there instead of flying to Europe of SA.

Interesting , that almost every Congolese that i have spoken to about Muanda says the samething.

A 300 million development could turn this city into a serious boom that could generate 10s of 1000s of jobs.

Like you said. starting with 5 (5 Stars ) Hotels with couple Casinos, 2 Shopping Malls, an Airport , simply manage the Beach, and 1 Amusement Park. Just give Free land to developers and Tax (only Sales and City Taxes) after completion of these Estates .

What needs to be built is the Port . 1 Passanger Terminal and Marchandize/Container Terminals.

Not just here in Muanda. But on Tanganyika Lake, Kalemie also is very sweetable for a project like this one.

Muanda is full of tourism potential, hard to beat views.

Congo can learn a lot from places like the Caribbean Islands when it comes to tourism. Even closer to home, places like Tanzania and Kenya.

At work, I have spoken to people who have booked holidays to Kenya, Namibia and Tanzania without ever being there or even knowing anything about the places. The marketing of these places simply done the trick.

I was proud to hear microsoft's Bill Gates visited Kahuzi-Biega National Park a long while ago, I thought this was the start of something but the industry did not pick up due to the insecurity near the national parks. These national parks are even bigger resources than gold mines.

Regarding, Muanda - I wouldn't mind that whole region being turned into a free trade zone for manufacturing items for export, polishing diamonds+gold, processing copper, tin etc.

Being basically the entry point of the country, it will cut out any travel time goods have to travel across this vast country, making it cheaper for the exporters to do business in DRC.

Due to increased traffic, RN1 will probably have to be expanded to mainly 100 km of 3x3 and to 4x4 in the urban sections reaching Kin. Trucks should be made to pay tolls for using the route.

Actually, looking further into it, the potential of the whole area could make your eyes water.

Ports in Boma, Matadi and Muanda, great source revenue from import/export taxes and plenty of jobs.

Sources of very cheap and clean energy from the two Ingas, potential of Inga 3 and Grand Inga.

Already a source of 20 000 barrels of oil per day, arguably unofficially the Angolans are producing double that already within this region.

Agriculture, fishery, forestry and water resources to feed millions

As discussed above, tourist potential. Scenic and historic rail journey from Kin. People will visit smaller towns like Kisantu with its botanic gardens.

Another underrated factor is the cool, almost perfect weather of parts of Bas Congo, for those of us that can no longer handle the hot climate.

The weather alone would give reason for many European settlers, many northern Europeans go to Turkey, Thailand, etc, when reaching retirement age due to the weather, cheaper lifestyle etc.
