My Friend, the best form of interaction is in a social setting, and if you can impart some knowledge and ideas to someone of that ranking such that he uses that to better the lives of his constituents, that all the better...

I wish.
But I sponsor the local football league single handedly. One the teams won the draft earlier this year to play in Kenya Premier League division 2. Also, I sponsor women self help groups. I felt obligated to take matters on my own hands and challenged the governor to revamp the stadium, since the teams need a modern home ground. I invited him for lunch and we discussed a lot of development avenues pertaining to youths. I gave him my agenda and he gave me his word that the county govt will play its part in developing physical infrastructure.

Just an article over the matter

PRIVATE INVESTOR REVIVES BUNGOMA FOOTBALL CLUB

Quote:
Talented footballers from Bungoma County have a reason to smile after a
private investor launched a football club aimed at ensuring that youth’s
nurture their talents in a bid to fast track improvement in their standards
of living.

Addressing the press after launching the new football club dubbed “ FC
Bungoma”, club owner, Evans Wafula said that youths in Bungoma County had
nobody who can help them nurture their talents barely two years after
devolved system of governance was effected, saying that he came for their
rescue in a bid to raise talented footballers from the county.

“We need more support from the county govt to help FC Bungoma realize their
dreams and ensure that they don’t indulge themselves in irresponsible
sexual behaviors and drug trafficking that can shutter their future dreams
and aspirations” posed Wafula

Wafula slammed Bungoma politicians of duping youths during campaign
periods to vote for them in a bid to give them lucrative jobs but forget
them ones they ascend to power, arguing that he is determined to see to it
that FC Bungoma produces talented players that can be sold to other clubs
in Kenya and abroad so that Bungoma regains back her lost glory.

The FC Bungoma boss wondered why the county government of Bungoma does not
have a county football club notwithstanding the fact that other counties
have there’s, saying that Bungoma county government is not committed to
ensure youths put something on their tables but to depend on hand outs from
them during campaign periods.

“We can’t allow our youths to languish in poverty yet they are talented and
yet you will hear them talking of renowned clubs such as Manchester united,
Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Even the minister in charge of sports and
youth affairs doesn’t care for them?” said Wafula

In a rejoinder, Ag. Team manager, Sylvester Owino told the press that the
county government of bungoma should have already planted grass at Kanduyi
stadium, saying that officials concerned are there to enrich themselves
instead of developing sports in the county.

“Where do the minister for education, ICT, Youths and sports, Beryl
Mutekhele take money meant to fast track improvement of sports in the
county, even governor Lusaka is doing nothing to nurture talents of the
youths yet they overwhelmingly voted for him during the contentious March 4
th general elections’ lamented Owino

However, Ag. Fc Bungoma head coach, Evans Mafuta said that he envisages to
see to it that his club secures a spot at the Kenya Premier League (KPL)
next season, adding that they will be playing in division 2 during the 2015
season.
