You are right. Diversity and inclusion will likely be themes. Should be quite entertaining too given that the average athlete there has gone through years of work and multiple events intended to exclude the weak, lazy and unskilled.

And what about Indian women and members of the lower castes? And why does Jamaica have so many athletes and so few computer scientists? Lots to talk about!

That logo is much better than the bid logo, which I never cared for. It's way better than the 2012 logo, somehow more comfortable than the 2016 logo.

The 1996 logo also contained an image of a flame, but it was clumsily stylized with star shapes as smoke, or whatever.

Something about the 2024 emblem also seems like it was done with more heart than the 2020 logo.

A bit unsure about the part made to look like sexy lips. Calls to mind something X-rated? But much better than plenty of other Olympic logos.

As for 2028, I hope they stick with the winged angel. Too many Olympic logos for years have been overly abstract, too Rorschach test-like. Too much a case of been there, done that.

The LA28 committee will also save some money by not going through the design process all over again.

Presentation program was haphazard, but the core of the Paris 2024 committee's broadcast (a few minutes of time) was a good start.

OMG that's the Paris 2024 Olympics Official Logo? Thats horrible

That looks like a chatting/dating app logo made by a student!
And the lips are disastrous, kitch, tacky and ruin the entire logo.

Please there's no good designers in france? Thats the best you can do?
I just can't believe! What a shame.

Nothing will beat the design quality of Munich 72!

No, this was horrible:

Horrible way beyond a matter of "IMHO."

The lips are a big NO.

A logo is supposed to give you an idea what it is without thinking too much. It is pretty obvious when you see the flame and the medal but honestly, most people outside France don't know much what Marianne means there, which if you decide to include it in the logo, it way too simplistic and tacky to add just some lips on it. They could have designed the profile of Marianne on one side of the flame instead.

The logo without those lips would have been so much better.

I have to say I am stunned. My first thought was that they were being trolled by an anime reference to 1950's French movies. But I guess this is seriously from the committee.

Interesting to see how they develop the social values of Paris by beginning with pouty lips and a sexy teenage hair-do.

Maybe because most of the recent Olympic logos have been weak to outright lousy, I'm an easy grader when it comes to today's most recently unveiled logo, but I see your point too.

And, yep, this one to the left is first-rate:

The 2020 logo may have been partly inspired by 1972, but just some basic differences make the 1972 design impressively slick, while the other one comes off as less skilled and graceful.

I watched part of the presentation broadcast and the requisite sign-language reader was up there on stage. So was a guy in a wheelchair (same one from their bid video a few years ago) as one of the hosts. There was a woman off-stage talking about diversity and gender rights, or something like that. The French equivalent to a Caitlyn Jenner, however, was missing.

And the parody already started!

People are really disappointed, many prefer the candidature logo, which was most striking.

Quote:
David LE Goff Hairdresser logo
Quote:
Bertrand Raulet I preferred the logo before Eiffel Tower version symbolizing the number 24. It was more neutral and more universal. There this logo is certainly not unpleasant but why this feminine face? These are the Olympics so both women and men. Why this feminine bias? Where is the universality of the human race in this logo that excludes half of the planet? But hey, all that is ultimately so unimportant!

Sébastien Côme Can not we go back?
Serious are there people who have been paid for this?

Quote:
Aurélien Lejot And so there is a commission that has been created and people who have been paid for it?

Titouan Dupras A slight resemblance is not it ???

Arno Wéber I found it for free on the net

Oh my God, I'm going to die without seeing a decent Olympic logo again ... The last one was the one in Athens 2004 ... but compared to the last two, even the one in London 12 was good ..

NOTE: Rio 2014 was a plagiarism of Huatabampo.

WTF

Huatabampo copied Rio 2016, not the inverse.

Come on now. That logo was an abortion, easily the worst in Olympics history.

Even though I wasn't a part of the 2012 committee, didn't have contracts with them, didn't have friends or relatives working for them, and don't have any personal ties to the UK, what 2012 executives like Sebastian Coe did in decisionmaking irritated me to no end, if only because he and others were affecting an international organization.

Or to paraphrase a former PR motto of Las Vegas, what happens in London, doesn't stay in London.

But the criticisms of the 2024 logo do have merit. If I were on the 2024 committee, that wouldn't have been my first choice. But something about the somewhat inappropriate, odd lips-and-hair-in-an-oval design doesn't leave me as cold as many other recent Olympic logos have done.

Something about the 2016 logo always made me think of a toy store or a special workshop program for infants and kids.
