Absolutely hideous. It looks like they ran out of cash and everybody whipped out a paintbrush. As Lydon said, I hope it will look better once it is complete. Right now, even the tone of Red is out.

Close ups of red panels. The space between the horizontal red strips which was where the electronic display was on the render has been faced with the cream facing so maybe not getting the display

I finally got a look at it in person yesterday, and it does indeed look much better in person. It does add a bit of a pop to the area. Any ideas as to what they could be doing on the roof? It looks like they're installing steel frames...do you think the electronic signboards could have perhaps been moved to the roof instead?

Is that inside THIS Burger King, or just a random Burger King somewhere in the world?

Not this Burger King. The render is from GPI's website, so it gives an idea of what to expect, and it explains why the choice of red on the exterior of the building.

I must say that looking from the elevated freeway up Heerengracht, the red really stands out and gives the rather austere even row of buildings a kick!

I actually think the location is great. It will get great exposure, and I suppose this is another reason for the shocking red as part of the building facade. People will drive here just for bk
