Phase I has seen the refurbishment of the listed Cold Store, now mostly let to The Prince’s Trust, which is next to the 108-room Adagio aparthotel that opened in August 2015.

Waheed Nazir, corporate director, economy, at Birmingham City Council, added: “I am delighted to see Phases II and III of the Beorma Quarter coming forward to provide good quality space to further enhance the city’s offer to relocating companies. Building on the success of recent relocations from major companies like HS2, HSBC and HMRC, it is clear that Birmingham is set to continue to be a hugely attractive place to invest and do business.”

That image is quality, if we end up with that I will be very happy. Not optimistic though.

Given how many prs schemes are going up and also spec build offices I think it’ll go up, they can probably afford the offices to remain empty/partially empty with the apartments filled up and then wait for a pre let

I love this project. Tower looks sexy and it will look awesome coming in on the train to Moor Street.

I can even see myself chilling with a glass of wine sitting outside one of those new cafes/bars in the new square at the back of the tower, lets not forget there is more to this deevlopment than just the tower, we are getting a new square too.

Old Tower proposal

However it gives you a sense of its height and location and coming in from the South you should see both Beorma Tower and 103 Colmore row as well as Bank/Moda and Exchange Tower.

Big smile on Brum X face

To think these 2 and Moda should be under construction by the end of the year ....very exciting.

How does Boerma compare to HCT and Colmore 103 in terms of height above we level....I realise Colmore will look higher but will Boerma look nearly as high as HCT for example?

I am still reluctant to get excited about this one as apart from a press release giving no real new information we still don’t know if they are capable of delivering this and we have seen so many false dawns before. I got accused of ‘writing this off completely’ when I said around November time it would be at least 12 months before anything happens if ever in it’s current form.

They say they are talking to a number of interested parties regarding a pre let, so why the need for the blanket promotion and charm offensive with no new information, it just still doesn’t add up to me and I am sceptical that this is going to be flipped to someone else and resubmitted.

We've waited a while for a few 100 metre plus towers. Now it looks like we will have 4 100 metre cores coming up within a year. Like bloody busses.

Would be great if someone could Photoshop all under construction and proposed tall buildings into this.

Great photo.

We just need a few towers and it really will be an impressive skyline. I don't even think London could compete.

It'a great, but to be honest it's not a patch on London.

I stayed in Canary Wharf the other week, in the middle of one clump of skyscrapers with a really good view of another at the city of London.

This is true, London skyline is something we can’t compete with out main competitor is Manchester

Ah Smallbrook Queensway tower, I've completely forgotten about that one, god knows what's going on there. And you forgot about Connaught square one
