Hahaha
The Yanks have been sticking their oar in on the side of the Nats since Holland in the fifties.
Brash had a real good deal going with Shonkey as the bag boy and it would be no surprise if National still receive "technical assistance" especially from the "Russian appointed" so called US "President" Trump.

Tim Costly to be nationals candidate in Otaki.

You never see this type of quality standing for Labour.

I doubt whether the ability to order spare parts for aircraft is that big an advantage. He could however be no worse than Guy who single handed shut down NZ meat exports to China for two months when he changed veterinary export rules without bothering to tell them about it.
You should ask exporters what they think of him!

Sorry, can't seem to find your link to the Labour candidate of an equal standing.

When you've finished trolling thru the teachers register, trade union officials and University staff lists get back to me.

Bearing in mind that this guy obviously never made the cut to make Group Captain and become eligible for one of the top jobs in the RNZAF it should not be a problem, however I cannot be bothered wasting my time.
The full lists will come out soon enough and you can have a whinge then.

Hey guys, just wondering if China is up to the same things in New Zealand as they are up to over here in Australia? - Bribing politicians, meddling in our local affairs, buying up all our agricultural land, residential land, trying to take control of our natural resources and businesses.

Helen opened the door to the Chinese during her first term as PM, National didn't close it and Jacinda is beating the Chinese drum and riding the Chinese horse for all it's worth, she's just signed off an improved FTA with them.

Not so much - despite Robs fears signing a FTA is not akin to giving away our sovereignty to the yellow peril .

Well they are not yet as bad as the Yanks who want to trash the UK NHS and the NZ Pharmac systems in exchange for "wonderful" trade deals. Nor are they as bad as the US billionaires who buy up NZ land and then block Kiwis who previously had access from using it.
NZ needs a "wall" more than Mexico!

I know that China is slowly taking control of Africa in this manner, but Australia?

The situation is worse than we imagined...

I never said it was, I was just point out what has happened.

What can't be denied is that the main reason for the housing crisis in Auckland is also due to Chinese property speculation. And the Chinese are buying a lot of farming and forestry land in NZ.

The Chinese are also buying influence in all the Pacific Islands, traditionally an NZ/Aus sphere of influence. We've dropped the ball, they want the infrastructure development Chinese money buys, we are losing or have lost our influence in our own backyard.

The Chinese are more subtle. Under National they took control of large numbers of NZ farms and invested significant cash in processing companies. Having a number of "spies" in the National Party did not hurt!

From the ridiculous to the ....even more ridiculous!

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/pol...-2020-election

And a comment that basically covers it

spudman
An absolute agist joke. What skills, life experience does he bring to the table?
Let’s talk mortgages? Never had one.
Let’s talk wages? Never earned one.
Let’s talk gambling reform? Never laid one.
Let’s talk family/spousal abuse? Never had one.
Let’s talk superannuation/pension? No idea, and it’s 50years down the track.
Let’s talk education? Never been to uni.
Let’s talk industrial relations? Never had a job or bargained with an employer.
At 17 he’s a career “diplomat”, looking to jump on the gravy train. Can’t blame him for that, but it’s ridiculous to think he offers anything other than being young.

Although, being the Nat candidate in Palmy is hiding to nothing thou...

Its been a Labour seat for pretty much forever, (Maharey had it for 18 years, and Lees-Galloway has been there 11)

Even when a former Mayor tried to get elected he still couldn't do it....

The chance of turning this seat blue is 0...
