Bounce planning to raise $30 million for electric vehicle arm; VOGO $50 million

Bengalure based Scooter sharing app Bounce plans to raise $30 million exclusively for its electric vehicles subsidiary Zuink Smart Mobility Solutions, and has received in-principle board approval for the same, two people aware of the developments told ET. Existing investors including Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, Chiratae Ventures and others are likely to lead the first funding round, one of the people said.

This is in line with its plan to build a distributed infrastructure for EVs using kirana stores and to deploy battery swapping stations across cities. Bounce’s move also mirrors ride hailing app Ola’s approach to set up a separate entity to fuel growth of its EV business.

“We believe that electric vehicle battery swapping can be a standalone business,” said Vivekananda Hallekere, CEO, Bounce.

The startup claims it does more than 50,000 rides a day in Bengaluru.

Bounce, which is running a pilot with nearly 30 kirana owners in the city, plans to connect them with banks and other lenders to finance charging units and EV batteries. The cost per station works out to ₹1,00,000, said Hallekere.

Another Bengalure based scooter app, rival Vogo, too, is looking to expand its electric fleet. The firm is evaluating several models, including setting up charging stations at its hubs. “We’re working on battery swapping and talking to a bunch of people on building this infrastructure jointly once we find the right partners,” said Anand Ayyadurai, CEO, Vogo.

Not sure if there is a list with that data somewhere, although it would be interesting to look at if there is.
You can probably estimate it. Should be able to get the major tech parks and their size (in terms of sqft). The big real estate publications provide the total size of Grade A office space. I think it is between 120 - 150 million sqft. Maybe there is something with a breakdown of that by IT park.
From there, you can use a benchmark of approx 100sqft/person to estimate the number of people working there.

Hyd tops charts in office space absorption, supply:
Hyderabad: With Hyderabad accounting for nearly 36% of the net Grade A office space absorption in the country during the third quarter of 2019 (12% in Q3 2018) thanks to robust demand from the IT/ITeS, BFSI and co-working sectors, it has left vis a vis Bengalurus 21% (21%) and Delhi NCRs 18% (22%), the city is on track to emerge as India’s largest office market in terms of net absorption in 2019
According to The India Real Estate Market Update Q3 2019 by JLL, Hyderabad saw a net absorption of nearly 10 million sq ft (msft) in the first nine months of the year, of which nearly 4 msft came in the third quarter alone (0.63 million in Q3 2018) as compared with 2.23 msft for the quarter in Bengaluru (1.13 msft in Q3 2018) and 2 msft in Delhi NCR (1.15 msft). The total office space net absorption in the country stood at 10.9 million sq ft for the quarter, double the 5.3 million sq ft recorded in Q3 2018.
JLL attributed the jump in net absorption in Hyderabad to the continued expansion of major IT and BFSI occupiers like Microsoft, Xilinx, MathWorks, JDA Software and Synchrony Financial, combined with a significant take up of Grade A spaces by co-working players like WeWork.
Hyderabad has also trumped Indias Silicon Valley when it comes to new completions in the office market by accounting for nearly half of new office space completions across the country in Q3 2019 at 5.21 million sq ft or 44% of the total new completions in the country as compared to 0.43 million (7%) in Q3 2018.

Office space leasing rose 23 percent to 15.4 million square feet in the July-September quarter across nine major cities, and may touch an all-time high this year at over 60 million square feet as tech corporates and co-working players continue to expand their operations, according to property consultant CBRE. The cumulative absorption or leasing of office space has increased by over 30 percent to cross 47 million square feet in the first nine months of 2019 calendar year, the consultant said in its India Office MarketView Q3 2019 report. India's commercial real estate has been performing well even as overall property market, especially housing, is facing a multi-year demand slowdown. According to the data, office space leasing jumped over-two fold in Hyderabad to 4.1 million square feet during July-September from 1.7 million square feet in the year-ago period. Chennai also witnessed more than a two-time increase in leasing at 1.8 million square feet from 0.7 million square feet, while Pune saw a marginal increase to 1.4 million square feet from 1.3 million square feet. The demand for office space in Mumbai fell to 1.5 million square feet from 1.7 million square feet, while Bengaluru saw leasing activities declining to 4 million square feet from 4.4 million square feet. In Kochi, demand fell to 0.01 million square feet from 0.1 million square feet. Office space leasing remained flat in NCR, Kolkata and Ahmedabad at 2.3 million square feet, 0.2 million sq ft and 0.1 million sq ft, respectively.
