Very cool of the UK to refurbish their brutalist architecture. In my opinion, people have an unfairly negative opinion of this type of architecture because it is almost always dilapidated.

I would like it if they did the same thing for the Trellick.

The rooftop will become an outdoor area for the residents.

As of late November 2016, the tower is empty. They should be somewhat through gutting by now.

They should just demolish it. The Balfron Tower is a good example how brutalism is just so ugly. It's looks perfect for a Soviet flat.

It's actually a beautiful building underneath the worn out facade. Coming from someone who actually lived in a communist apartment, this building is nowhere close to one of those.

I like it

I think it fits the image a lot of poeple have of the industrial cities of England. Only thing missing is Vicky Pollard.

Trellick Tower will also be externally renovated by 2018. No renders out, yet.

You can't polish a turd. Knock it down and start again, and reintroduce a proper streetscape while your at it.

Keep the tower. It needs a podium extension with storefronts.

What a catastrophic ugly building. What should architects from the 1800s thought about this?

Not sure what the pricing will be in Balfron, but flats in Trellick have sold from £250,000 to £480,000.
