I agree. We have so many malls, with almost the same tenants. Just bring more far east famous brands.

4) Womei Cinemas @ Bele Time Danga Bay (China's cinema chain - 1st in Southeast Asia in JB)

Interesting

While much developments especially in terms of tenants and shops are opening in the north and east region, the west jb still remain largely underdeveloped...

There is still no cinema in FC, PH medini iskandar puteri area and the closest cinema is tgv bukit indah which is starting to show its age...

Hope they revamp the screen cos tgv cinema is known to be darker as compared to cathay or gsc, which has currently the brightest, sharpest and best screens.

Make it like Iconsiam would be the best

If they gonna make it nice, why not make it the very best like Spore or Bangkok. The grandest mall in whole of Asia. Put JB right in the world map.

There will be a cineplex at Sunway Big Box, well at least, they built for it. But still no news about who's the operator. They have not reveal the tenants for the mall.

Not hard to guess who is the cineplex operator, just look at their existing mall in Klang Valley, and you will roughly know.

More travellers using Senai International Airport

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (SATSSB) is expecting some 3.76 million air travellers to pass through Senai International Airport by the end of the year.

He said in the pipeline were plans for expansion of the terminalís new domestic arrival hall and the new waiting area at the departure hall costing between RM13mil and RM15mil.

He said work on the project would start in the fourth-quarter of the year and among the new features at the new domestic arrival hall were baggage handling system, retail lots, office spaces and covered walkway.

Md Derick said the new waiting area at the departure hall, which could cater to 180 passengers at a time, would include two new gates, toilets and new ramp walkway.

He said Senai Airport would also be connected to Shanghai, China, its newest international route in the fourth quarter of the year.

A terrible airport for a city this big...

Senai should be expanded further with more facilities.

There is not even a premium lounge in this airport and the toilets are so small and always full

There are also not enough seating area and dining options in the departure terminal vs Penang or KK airport

Agree. Senai was built in the early 1990s, or was it earlier. And back then, letís face it, JB was a kampung, a backwater. Also, only Malaysia Airlines out of the airport.

Itís only been in the past 5 years or so that JB has seen tremendous growth in terms of infrastructure and high rise, mainly residential and some hotels, and presumably economy and population too.

So maybe itís time for the airport to play catch-up. But like anything in the country, there is usually little advance planning; itís only when congestion starts becoming unbearable will the authorities start to look into the matter.
