Since today we managed to put one of these pictures of Prishtina as a banner, I wanted to share with you the originals:

I am sorry that i will have to reply in English to your question since i don't speak Italian. There is nothing offensive about this question and i will try to explain the situation regarding the Albanian and Kosovar identities in Kosovo. Always according to my point of view.

The thing is, people in Kosovo (and Balkans in general) most of the time fail to see differences between ethnicity (the relation of person with a particular racial, cultural, or religious group) and nationality (the relationship between a person and the political state to which they belong or are affiliated).

People who got this right would probably say they are Kosovar by nationality, since they live in Kosovo, and Albanian (or Serb, Bosnian, Turkish) by ethnicity. Those Albanians who didn't get this right will only say they are Albanian (no matter if they are being asked about their nationality or ethnicity) and will refuse the existence of Kosovar identity.

The second group of people are majority and they are very often frustrated when they hear somebody being identified as Kosovar and this is probably more related to their over protective feelings of their Albanian identity.

What was your experience in Kosovo three years ago? Maybe this way you answer some of the AbruzzoNelCuore's questions too.

Thank you so much for the answer
I was travelling from Montenegro and crossed the border by bus heading Pristhine, which i visited during the morning walking randomly, I found it a pleasant city to walk and I couldn't avoid noticing the american touch not only in the names of the streets but in the architecture as well. The contrast with some older and narrower streets was quite strong but in the end I appreciated the city.
Then I spent just half day in Prizren, smaller and more authentic, not only for the lovely bridges and others ancient sights but more over because there was a wedding going on and a lot of people was celebrating in the streets with their cars coming from all over europe...it was funny.
Took a little walk also at the fortress but they were working on it. Very delicious (and for me cheap) street food n both cities, people were nice to me and i didn't have any problem.
I was there just as a tourist so I can't talk about poverty, of course standards are different compared to Italy, but i was happy to see with my eyes that people there were living with dignity and working hard. From time to time I saw some kfor cars, and that's something that remembers me how difficult life can be sometimes in kosovo, but hopefully things will only go better.

BUT...The only thing i will never forget was my bus trip from kosovo to macedonia, there was not enough space for everybody but the driver gave me a comfortable portable chair to put in the middle of the bus
