I'd prefer to see the angle parks gone and wider footpaths - angle parking is always a risk and why do we need so many cars in there?

Presumably so they can claim they aren't reducing parking, which is exactly what they should be doing of course. There are several giant parking buildings in the area and a another one being built in Wynyard at the moment. Realistically, AT/AC should be removing an equivalent number of parks from the street whenever any new stock is added, and converting a subset of them into loading zones.

Hey team! What's the average cost per km of an on-road fully protected cycleway? And what's the average cost per km of an on-road unprotected, painted cycleway?

More importantly if the net loss of carparks due to cycle ways is 100 car parks, have they built a replacement carpark building yet?

Why would they build a replacement carpark building?

Anyone know what is happening on Victoria Street, thought a cyclelane was going in but they have done a lot of the work and there is no cyclelane!

I think a lot of people are scratching their heads about this one.

There is no separated cycleway. An extended footpath with a cycle lane painted in the middle.

A really busy street for pedestrians + bus passengers. Seems like a cycle lane just for the sake of it.

I reckon AT will get a bit of backlash.

Yeah, I went and had a look at the plans after walking along it and thought surely not. I walk this area every day and it's teeming with office workers. There are bus stops and traffic lights which people will have to cross this weird painted cycle path. Cnspiracy theorists would argue this is modal sabotage by AT haha
