Yeah.

Always good to see a project start - I just wish the sucker was 3 stories taller (then it could have had its own thread!).

I think since Tasmania now has it's own forum, we can give it one if we'd like. The mods recently helped out with splitting the Macq01 posts into their own thread

Yeah, I like to be able to see progress shots together. Even for little projects, like the office building in the mall, this thread is impossible to navigate whenever I want to dig up an old post with plans etc. I think the Rox deserves a thread, especially as it’s on such a prominent corner. It’s a small building but an important one for the city.

No disagreement from me there Tasmanian. Feel free to start a thread and we can all simply repost our threads to kick it off and add photos as it goes along...

And another image of what the original site looked like back in around 1880, I reckon...interestingly, the 2 storey add on building at the rear of Roxbourgh House still exists!

The building at the back is the most historical part dating back into the 18th C. I think is was a hall.
It will be incorporated into the wider development and be converted into 2 appartments I believe.

Yes, in the B&W photo above the hall-like buildings behind Roxbouough House is still there, hidden behind modern additions and will be retained in the overall Rox development.

Mmm. Never sure how to change the thread title...usually a nice Mod reading these threads might do it but otherwise, my oversight will live on in history!

Looking forward to a photo or two of what is actually happening on the ground though.

I think someone said fencing and a digger might be there now?

Fencing is up and the carpark is currently being dug up.

Thanks for the up-date Sulaco.

I wonder what the time frame is for this build? I am guessing if work gets properly underway next month, it should be close to opening the end of Q1 2021...

Wandered past the site at lunchtime.

Not worth a photo because all that has happened is that a small parcel of the car park has been dug over. The fencing is still there with a VOS sign but no sign of work sheds or any large scale demo.

I supect it will kick off properly after the Christmas break but will keep an eye on it just in case a demolition excavator shows up!!

Have not been past the site for a while. I am guessing that not much is happening. I reckon that's becuase VOS want to finish off the Commons structurally before they move onto this site. VOS certainly has some projects on the go at the moment.

Yeah nothing has happened further. Surely they could have brought a demo crew in though.
