What's the deal with 108 Stirling St? It's so 80s-futuristic.

Well Perth has always been the boom/bust economy and we are no longer in the BOOM.
We are in a bit of a lull over here right now so I guess it's the Perth BUST rundown instead of the Perth BOOM rundown.

Where about is this one in South Perth? Like the address?

I have not seen a thread with it or seen it being in any particular thread in the WA forums. Alas I had some time off SCC from May to July this year.

Godammit, Perth is supposed to be in a bust and this thread still has so many projects that I can't get all the images to load I guess a large city will still maintain a certain level of developement activity even when the economy is bad, but if you want to see a real bust, come to Townsville

Great rundown though PD. How many years of planning and design iterations has Emu Brewery gone through? I feel like that's been in the pipeline ever since I joined this forum.

Emu has had about half a dozen proposals over the past couple of decades. The current one has certainly progressed further than any of the others. Probuild has been on site doing site works for a few months and Woodside has committed to lease the office tower. There is a odd lack of information though.

Are there any insiders SSC posters (project architects, planners or investors etc?) lurking out there who knows what is going on with Emu Brewery?

I have seen at least two SSC poster names in the WA threads during the day time. Yet they have only been lurking as i have not seen any posts from them in the last (at least 6-8) months.

Well in the past Perth hasn't.
So it seems that Perth has turned a corner as a city - even in the downturn we have a decent flow of projects coming through.
I know this has always been the case for the Eastern capitals but downturn developments of this scale are a welcome part of the evolution of Perth.

Even though our office vacancy rate is high there is still demand for A grade which means we will still continue to see office developments despite the
And Perth has spent so long NOT building apartments that it seems like every resi development is pretty much getting off the ground.
Here's hoping for bigger and bolder developments to come in the future.

This time it is backed by cashed up Asians.
And they have signed on Woodside to anchor the Office component.
And they have commenced siteworks so it's looking like it's going ahead atm.
