The pic was taken August 2004 according to the site.

Citystyle, the picture is of the CBD with the beginning of the suburbs around it.

Nice Dense little CBD there, cant wait for it to stretch down to South Terrace!! I know, I know its a fair way off yet. For some reason I keep thinking mini manhattan, without the water!!

Try thinking more along the lines of a mid-sized Brisbane, without the height but with the density and the river.

Woah! Didn't know that! Thanks for the info.

What would be better(or happen first), buidling up towards West Tce, or towards South Tce and the Optus building, or toward the east end(rundle st etc)?.

South and West, you wouldn't want to build up the east, there is a lot of good heratige stuff there.

id say south - optus is a pie in the sky for its location and could use a few neighbors.

plus itd be cool to have the 'spine' of the city on king william road , would guarntee some exellent skyline shots. and itd make adelaide look 'bigger' too from the west & east, notso much for the north and south.

I know it that view is important to skyscraper freaks and nerds and to a few clueless forumers, but I honestly think that the activity that new buildings create whether they be residential, office or retail is far more important than how the skyline appears from 20km south. Having said that though, that would require the construction of many new buildings and developments, including high-rise buildings.

Nice!

I just got back from GC 3 hours ago and experienced a similar view of the CBD. I must say, Adelaide is the best looking Australian Capital from the air.

Unfourtunately for me, the only view I can recall from my last trip, is the view of the Holden plant at Elizabeth.

Great shot this one. Gives a really good perspective on the CBD, which has already changed since that shot. Good to get a similar pic a couple of years down the track.

I believe that huge photo that Culwalla posted up above covers most of the University of Adelaide. Now, I might be wrong but the Faulty of Education fronts North Terrace near Pulteney Street - does anyone either have a photo of the building (couldn't find one on uni webpage) or know what building it is on that photo above?

Looks stunning

The CBD Is so small for the amount of sprawl.
