This stadium is huge and also beautiful. Too bad that the Netherlands have bad memories about this by losing the WC final here

When it was announced that Soccer City was going to host a rugby match (which was as part of the Tri Nations Series, now The Rugby Championship), I initially thought that it would be for matches whose attendance would exceed the capacity of the Ellis Park Stadium.
Attendance for the 2010 Tri Nations match (South Africa - New Zealand): 94,713 Attendance for the 2012 The Rugby Championship match (South Africa - New Zealand): 88,739 Attendance for the 2013 The Rugby Championship match (South Africa - Argentina): 52,867 The 2013 TRC match has an unusually low attendance: Only half of the stadium filled. Ellis Park did host a match of the 2013 TRC.

FNB Stadium At Risk of Collapse?
Africa's largest stadium may be under threat from persistent illegal mining in the Johannesburg area. While the Department of Mineral Resources sees "no immediate threat", the mayor of JoBurg, Herman Mashaba, is of a very different opinion. The FNB Stadium sits atop an area of gold-bearing rocks, which makes the area subject to the heavy mining in the past, and, to some extent, presently. There is little oversight as to who enters tunnels under the city and reports of explosives being used to get through to the gold are very worrying.Such explosions take place near pipelines carrying fuel and gas, which puts the city's infrastructure at risk. Tremors resulting from the shaking ground have already caused structural damage to some roads and buildings across Johannesburg, as well as tunnels of decommissioned mines in the area.
