Agree, or at least for the terminals that have been taken care of so far. Once the renovations are done on the remaining terminals, it'll be fine minus the horseshoe and the people mover should help mitigate a decent chunk of the in/out issues.

LAX - CONRAC PRESS RELEASE

Quote:
LOS ANGELES — Mayor Eric Garcetti broke ground today on the Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which will centralize rental car operations into one convenient location and offer a direct connection to the upcoming Automated People Mover (APM) train. The Mayor was joined at the ceremony by Councilmembers Mike Bonin and Joe Buscaino, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) President Sean Burton, and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) CEO Deborah Flint, as well as community and labor leaders.
Quote:
The 5.3 million square foot ConRAC facility will feature 18,000 parking stalls with 6,600 ready/return spaces, 10,000 idle vehicle storage spaces, and 1,100 rental car employee spaces as well as visitor parking. A Quick-Turn Around facility will also be on-site, allowing for fueling, washing, and light maintenance of rental car vehicles.
Quote:
As the second largest rental car market among domestic airports, the ConRAC will improve and streamline the car rental process at LAX.

During the night the last couple of days, they extended the middle walkway, or road divider where passengers and employees wait for the buses and shuttles. So this will reduce the inner lanes.....maybe that's why they are booting taxis out to a pick-up lot, no more curb-side loading for taxis, and ride-share.

I understand AA need to relocate their maintenance facilities but I don’t understand why they couldn’t complete the concourse & only utilise the bays to the right of this image? The very same process when they rebuilt TBIT.

From my arse here but:

It looks like the bay door for the maintenance barn is on that side. You would be blocking access to that and make the barn useless. At that point, you might as well just tear it down to avoid the hassle of having to work around it.

Way at the end by the remote positions, Qantas finished their A380 hangar, and Delta is finishing theirs next door.

I wonder where AA will relocate, and United needs one too.

There isn’t any entrance on the side which would face the concourse. The hangar entrance is visible in the image & would be easily accessible.

Yeah I just checked on Google 3D satellite view. Hangar Doors are on both the South (seen in photo) and North sides. Nothing on the east side where that one AA bird is parked. They definitely should have just built the concourse fully even if those gates on the west side would not have been available immediately. Now they are going to build a temporary stinger that will be temporary like Dulles Concourse C/D is temporary.
