its funny though. all that steel around the facade and the roof only covers the top tier spectators.

So they are also building a new 1st tier?!?

I doubt it will be closer to the pitch, & I doubt it will be steeper, the gradient it had was quite adequate, so they will prob maintain it with a shorter length as previous.

They need to shorten the length so that the second teir isn't to far from the pitch like Berlin. The seats also needed replacing anyways.

yes. that was the previous first tier. They must be remodelling it somehow if they felt the need to tear down the entire structure.

essentially a new stadium using the foundation of the old stadium. At a price of under $300m for a 100,000 seater its a complete steal.

Has the capacity also changed from the quoted 94,700???
Unless they change the legroom space, previously the stadium had a capacity of 70,000, adding a second tier and a tier in between should surely add at least 30,000
